Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
TIGERS90, in my opinion, Portsmouth likely has just one major problem keeping them from having a stellar year (well, actually two): the lack of lots of Seniors, and having just replaced a good Senior class. That, coupled with a league that has some teams with ALOT of experienced Seniors (Chilly, Logan, Jackson, and Ironton). But, I will say this, several of their Sophs. have a chance to be "special"... Josh Myers being the leader of that group. Rewinding the clock a couple of years, he reminds me alot of Caleb Knights as a Soph. Several times friday night, under extreme pressure from the Cavs "D", he was able to make "chicken salad" out of "chicken crap". He may have forced a couple, but is definately a gamer. Good luck to him and the Trojans the rest of the year.

Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
good points army. but we have to step it up a level. we have a very talented team, playing too close to the vest. we have weapons in every aspect of the game. hope we get it together. ---soon as friday.
Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
You're Tiger Bait,
We had that issue last season with our CAVS. The seniors and talent were there, but did not take charge last year. What a new year brings. This season is like night and day. Our special teams, our defense, our tackling and our running game. All have seriously improved this year and as each week goes by, the confidence factor is taking hold with all the kids on our CAVALIER TEAM. The passing game is still our bread and butter but we now have a bonifide ground game too, thanks to Coach D and his Staff moving and shaking things up after week one. Our depth is getting larger with the multiple sets of players getting to play in our games. Thus, giving playing experience to guys who in a normal basis, would not have that time on the field. This is all due to Coach D and his Staff's multiple sets they have implemented with our CAVAILER FOOTBALL TEAM. There are many CAV players running in and out of the game now.
This game will for sure, be an exciting one to watch. Good Luck. Are you going to have any of the I-Town Posters meet at half time? Tell old Kantucky II I want to meet him.
I will be there with my son who is a second grader.

Bait,
i know i am slipping when you have to correct me. But having all the weapons in the world is not good if you do not use them. And Lutz is not using them.

Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
I thank Coach Lutz will have his kids from I-Town prepared.
But I also think Coach D will have his kids ready too.
Especially against Ironton.
Look for some big play makers from the Cavalier side in this game. This game will be a great one to watch within our SEOAL.
Good Luck Tigers

Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
I dont think its a questionof Lutz's play calling. I think its more a question of execution. We got a big strong offensive line. They should be dominaing every D-Line they play, but they are not. Why? I dont know. Ask the Buckeyes why they arent dominating on the offensive lie. The Tigers have the talent for sure they themselves have to want it. I think its a gut check time for all those big hogs on both the offenmsive and defensive lines. I know we have had some problems with dropped passes. Why should Lutz continue to pass if our recievers are going to drop he ball when it hits them inthe hands? If they want to throw the ball more they need to catch the ones thrown to them already.

tigercannon71,
How did Logan defeat your Fighting Tigers? By the pass or run?

Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
Do you all remember the '96 game...our team had it's worst season of Lutz tenure at ironton, when our qb on 4th and long spiked the ball to stop the clock....that was the end of the game....what an aweful year...

TTT,
Niced to see you finally woke up. I am glad the Geek Squad got your computer back up. LoL.
TC,
Get serious, you have a BIG line. They really had nothing for Logan. Logan controlled the line of scrimmage on BOTH sides of the ball. ironton will have to make major changes to reach their full potential.
Army,
Logan did both. Logan actually did whatever they wanted. Ironton was never in the game. ironont should have taken the opening kick off. By deferring they were down 28-3 by the time they got the ball. At the beginning of the game it was 0-0. The last time it was close.

Re: WK 6 Ironton @ Chillicothe
thats not true 2old, and you and everybody in logan knows it. we were robbed of a touchdown, that was clearly inbounds. right in front of god and everybody. had we made the extra point , it would have been 28-17. had that td been counted. with 1-1/2 quarters of football left to go. plus we scored again late. sure we didn't play the best ball ever. but don't act like it was pickin daisey's in the park. geesh.

Ironton wins this one quite easily as long as the zebra's stay in their cages...last couple of times to chilli...it was really bad...even in the last meeting when we were going to get beaten badly even if they called a clean game....we got hammered by bad calls all night...although it never would have mattered...I am not one to complaine about calls...but hope this one is called fairly...if so..Ironton runs away with this one...I know I was wrong about logan...but not this one....
