Pretty sure there is no basis to that................. Many teams have already signed extended contracts. I think something like that would be a legistical nightmare
Re: WK 6 (4-1, 2-0) Nelsonville-York @ (2-3, 1-1) Belpre
I don't think with the current setup of leagues and such you will every see an automated scheduler. Something I do think would be neat is to set up a rotation in each region. I would love to see some region 19 matchups scheduled regular season(ie:NY vs. Monroe Central, Adena, Heath, Wheelersburg, Liberty Union). If you wanna get real crazy do away with leagues all together and set up districts within the regions like in some other states.

If belpre turns the ball over like they did vs wellston, they have no chance. I know the Ullman boy is young but he needs to move his feet. He only throws to one reciever its. Its too easy to defend.
GO EAGLES!!!

Actually, in West Virginia, the top 16 teams in the state make the football playoffs. They have 3 divisions and around 32 - 34 teams per division. In basketball they have sectionals, sometimes only 3 teams in a sectional, then districts. The state finals have a quarterfinal, semifinal and final round. In baseball, the sectionals are the best 2 out of 3 games advance to the next round. They are really messed up in how they do their state tourneys. Can you imagine 1/2 of the teams in the state of Ohio making the football playoffs each year like WV?
They voted down a proposal this past summer to make football 4 divisions!

10 of 23 Nelsonville wins have came at Belpre.
Both teams play tough on the other teams field.
Belpre must eliminate the turnovers to stay in this game. Otherwise, the Buckeyes get the win.
DRILL THE VILLE!!!
Sure Belpre will play N-Y tough, everyone plays the Buckeyes tough. N-Y by five scores.

People need to remember that this game is at Belpre. Therefore, Nelsonville won't have the officials in their hip pocket like they do during home games.

Good stats Buckeye96...who would you say is the Buckeyes main TVC rival???...When we were in school in the 90's the VC NY games were usually for the TVC and NY was our main rivalry...just curious to what you think.

This is a good question, and honestly, I think that in football, EVERY team in the TVC OHIO sees NY as a main rivalry! I think that with NY's success in the league, every other team looks to each matchup with NY as a chance to knock off the Buckeyes - and when they do - the other team always is ecstatic and their fans go crazy!!! It's a very big deal for any other team in the league in any given year to get a win over NY. NY has to play each league game like its against their number one rival. This can be advantageous to NY because the Buckeyes know they have to play with intensity during all league games.
Whatever team is in contention for the title with NY in any given year has always been an exciting contest with a playoff-like atmosphere in any given year.
If I had to pick ONE team - historically speaking - it would have to be Belpre - as NY vs. Belpre games have decided the league championship more times than any other matchup. However, if you only look at certain periods, this changes. An example would be in the mid-90's - as I would say NY vs. Vinton County was THE big matchup in the league at that time, as you noted. In the late 90's/early 00's, NY vs. Wellston was THE big matchup in the league.
However, if you look at the entire history of the TVC and only had to pick one team to be NY's main league rival, I would have to go with Belpre.
NY has played Vinton County more times than any other school - going back to 1967 in the Buckeyes first year of play after consolidation. They have played every year except one year in the 1970's when Vinton County had a teacher strike. They have played 40 games going into this year and NY is 32-8 all-time against Vinton County. I'll have some more stats on that in Week 10 for you Viking96.

Re: WK 6 (4-1, 2-0) Nelsonville-York @ (2-3, 1-1) Belpre
I agree NYBuckeye96...It seems everyone at times has had very heated rivals with Nelsonville...but the common denominator there is Nelsonville, which is a tribute to your program...I know my senior year we were 1-4 going to Nelsonville and we came out of there with a 14-13 win in OT and you wouldve thought we won the Super Bowl...hahaha....but that win propelled us to win out and claim the TVC crown that year...And trying to tackle Justin Gail always had our team fired up...I respect the Nelsonville program alot but I would like to see just a little more parity..But I agree historically Belpre v NY is the main TVC deciding rivalry. Thanks for the stats.
Re: WK 6 (4-1, 2-0) Nelsonville-York @ (2-3, 1-1) Belpre
if Belpre can win this game and get there confidence back, i dont see why Belpre cant win at least a share of the TVC title...last year the you would of thought Belpre won the super bowl by beating Williamstown, but its amazing how one game makes a difference, Belpre was 0-2 with losses to Warren and Fort Frye and they went to williamstown, wv and won. That win carried them to BIG wins over VC at home and of coarse the the win at N-Y. I expect there to be a lot of loud N-Y fans at belpre this week, because i think i remember last year that the Belpre crowd traveled to N-Y and were louder than the home fans. That was the loudest i have EVER heard belpres student section for football. It was a great atmosphere last year, but its a new year. I would love to see Belpre win this game, they need to get Packard the ball on the outside more as well as Tate and Waderker, run some screens. But Coach Shriver knows what he is doing, I will take belpre in a big upset.
Belpre 17

Prodigy; forget about Packard getting to run outside, he lost his tailback position to Waderker and was moved to fullback.
After his 20 tackles at Tremble he was demoted to weakside linebacker and was told he wasn't trying hard enough and we had only one good player on the team(one of our receivers) and 22 carries up the middle for 93 yds, he wasn't running hard and had an I don't care attitude. This is bull crap, no one on the team tries harder or cares more than Ashton. I guarantee, if you ask our opponets coaches they would love to have him on their team. I don't understand why our coaches don't get on the punt coverage team for not running to the ball instead of lollygagging down the field, or the o-line for not blocking, and for our super star receiver for not trying to tackle. If we had 11 players that tried as hard as Ashton, we would win every game. The only way he could possibly please these coaches is if he changed his name.
