I don't think NY would want to leave the TVC to go back to the SEOAL. It's nice to have local league games against rivals in your backyard.
Having said that, I would LOVE to see NY pickup Gallia Academy as a non-league game. Gallia Academy is the only former SEOAL league rival of Nelsonville that NY has not played in football since leaving the SEOAL in 1970.
Gallia Academy always has a good football team and the two schools are closer in size to each other now then they were in the past. I think this would make for a great non-league rivalry and the winner would earn lots of second level playoff points in most years.

Good call not wrestling with a wrestling mom! Although I'm aware this is a football thread I couldn't keep shut about this one. Coming from another wrestling mom, I've seen many athlete's try wrestling only to be able to last a few practices. Try going to a wrestling tournament one time and sit through the whole thing then tell these wrestlers it's not a sport!

I'd hate to see one of them get ahold of you. "deadmeat" would be your new name on here. You couldn't hang for 5 seconds with a wrestler, because you have no clue what work ethic or determination is. All you do is run your mouth and nothing but crap comes out of it.
For your information, there are people at Alexander who are working to start a wrestling program there. I work with the youth league and they have a youth team in it. Hopefully, they'll get the programs going in the middle school and high school over there in the next few years. Wrestling is a sport that not only builds strength, but character as well. It would be a fine addition to your school.
Man, I hate ignorance.......
Anyone know the difference between a wrestling mom and a pitbull
Hey now...I resemble that remark!!!

I can only speak for myself, but I have NOTHING but respect for Belpre and their program.
I come from the days when a "W" at Belpre basically ensured that you would win the TVC. They had some tough times the last several years, but they really woke up the echoes last year.
Belpre will have a ton of confidence coming off of their title run a year ago. They still control their own destiny for at least a share of the title with a win vs NY.
If you look through the stats, it is hard to find too many "EASY" wins playing AT Belpre.

I spent MANY HOURS at OU's Alden Library on the ground floor going through old microfilm of The Athens Messenger. I have the scores to every NY game ever played, as well as if it was a home or away game. I can tell you NY's record against any team the Buckeyes have ever played. [/quote]

Some of the best football Lineman are outstanding wrestlers...My cousin used to be a VP at Dublin Coffman and he said they encourage their lineman to wrestle......I sill like NY in this one.....Good luck to both teams..

Time for Belpre to put it all together this friday night. I have said this before and I will say it again, IMO, the biggest game for Belpre in the TVC since Warren left has been Nelsonville. Year in and year out, the Buckeyes are the gold standard in the TVC in which all other teams measure themselves against, like it or not.
LETS GO EAGLES - DRILL THE VILLE!!!

Re: WK 6 (4-1, 2-0) Nelsonville-York @ (2-3, 1-1) Belpre
Nelsonville York has had to pull out some close wins so far, and Belpre can execute on both sides of the ball and should not be overlooked. For the most part, I think there are no easy wins for the teams in the TVC Ohio this year, and this game should show some pure, hard hitting football.
I'll go with Belpre in a mild upset--just enough to make league play more interesting this year.
Good luck to both teams in this one.

The Buckeyes put a whole game together this week and win by 16. Reserve players get some quality snaps, that will give the starters a little healing time.........Glad to see Talbert without his cast on, hope that things are going well in his recovery. With some luck maybe we can get him back for the PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!! Dont get to cocky....GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!

I say the Buckeyes take this one by three touch downs with a final score Buckeyes 30 Eagles 7. The Buckeyes will show up with the A game looking to make up for last year and will not settle for anything less than a BIG WIN. But they must play all four quarters of football and have an outstanding night on defense. GO BUCKEYES

Leave that cannon in Nelsonville. We are working out a deal with CSX to have a 100 car coal train travel on the railroad tracks really slow @ 7:30 pm so you will have no place to set it up.

Belpre's defense will muffle that cannon and the only sounds you will hear is the sound of Eagles soaring out of Ralph Holder stadium with a big upset of the boys from Buchtel.
Go Eagles!!!

This Poem Is for GREEN EAGLE.
Good luck Bucks from the Tomcats.
The NY Bucks roll into town,
The mighty eagles are going down,
Coach Boston is no fool,
Danny J. Hall says roll baby roll,
The Bucks Defense pulls together,
Just in time to pluck eagles feathers,
The Bucks cannon will BOOM!
Which for Eagles spells Doom.
Good luck Bucks from the Tomcats.

The mighty eagles are going down,
Coach Boston is no fool,
Danny J. Hall says roll baby roll,
