^^^^^^If that were the case then why aren't more lineman throwing Shot and Discus to show their agility....Throwing in a circle and going agaisnt opposing lineman are 2 totally different things....I mean throwing in a circle just means you can spin in a circle real fast....I completely disagree with you....but that is why it is my opinion....We will see for ourselves tonight and go from there.

Okay... whatever.

Cadogan is listed as a defensive end recruit on the sites I looked at, also mentioned as a possible TE ... I bet he can run.

I mean No disrespect...but when scouts look at players they look at their wightlifting, their 40 times, their game highlights, I don't hear about the Shotput and Discuss circle spin at the combine...Trust me I mean no disrespect, but everyone I have talked to say both of those guys are slow....Speed can be developed in School and I am sure that FSU and Penn St. will develope that for them...

The elder Codagen was pushed around by Ben Doolittle and was very slow but he is having alot of success at PSU and I believe is a starter for them. I have heard the younger one is better than his bro was at that age but who knows???

I guess what I am saying is this...

I saw Cadogan throw shot and discus twice last spring. His technique was not spectacular in either event, however, I thought that he demonstrated some natural quickness/agility in his movements.

Having seen that natural quickness, I find it unlikely that he would be "slow" on the football field.

Do they measure a recruit's throws to decide whether to recruit them? Are the throws a part of standardized evaluation?

No, they are not, but I maintain that you can learn some things about a kid's athleticism by watching him throw.

The point of debate wasn't "can the kid block?" or "does he dominate?" The point was "is Cadogan slow?"

loyaldevilfan, you must like to argue just about as much as I do!

Throwing discus well = good footwork

Is footwork important to lineman?

Any updates?

Did you really ask that question? Hopefully not, maybe I'm just seeing things.

Close game......We didn't Capitalize on a few opportunities but all in all was a good game....I don't know how you can call a clip after a player has already entered the endzone, but hey I am not an official...LOLThe more I watch Nate Allison the more impressed I am with him...Man that kid runs straight forward and hard.....I think our line handled the 2 D-1 linemen well...Coadagan got into our backfield a few times but all in all I think we did well...The D really stepped up in the second half...Good Game Blue!!!!

Just to reply to the earlier post about the older Cadogan. He is a 3 year letter men at PSU and is on the outland trophy list for the best interior linemen in college football. He has started every game the last 2 years and is anchoring the 3 highest scoring offense in the country this year.

Nate had a great game, he was blowing his man off the ball and in the back field all night. I just dont understand why we pull a player out everytime he has a big play??? Nate had a sack for a loss of ten or more and spent the next three plays on the bench.

Only score of the night came with 8:58 remaining in the first half; a 24 yard aerial from Ethan Moore to Evan Wood, Corey Mason kicking the extras.

The Blue Devils had several more scoring chances but failed to capitalize. Evan Wood had what appeared to be a pcik six for about 80 yards that was nullified on a block in the back BEHIND THE PLAY.

Mason later missed about a 44 yard FG tht I believe was wide right.

Finally, the Devils had a nice drive that ended on a failed 4th and goal from the one attempt. The Devils held Portsmouth's next drive and ran out the clock.

The second half was one Woody Hayes would have appreciated, being the army tactician that he was. Portsmouth spent the entire half in the shadow of their goal, and GAHS was always set up in the short field but simply shot ourselves in the foot with numerous penalties.

In addition to seeing good buddies like Trojandave, OzzieOhio, and biggdowgg, I also had a chance to chat with BooDuh at the half, and after the game ran into good friend Joe Albrecht.

You should have heard some of the parents after the Pick 6 got called back...LOL it was very entertaining.....LOL Wood was 2 steps in the endzone and then they threw the flag...Man Niday was very Heated...LOL oh well things happen...A W is a W...

the block in the back happened before the score, it happened right as the runner was around the 4 or 5 yard line....

I though the refs done a great job, this is one of the better crews I have seen.
