First, congrats to East. However, some of you need to understand that while you won, you act like your defense was stellar. The Oaks were able to move the ball. Slone was hardly shut down. He was 21 - 31 for 293 yards and a TD. Again, nice win for East.

How many seniors will OH lose from this years team, and exactly how many sophomores are on the team?

A score of 21-13 hardly represents a shut down. Are you saying a mediocre defense could beat OAk Hill?Just funning with you.Seriously as much talent as Oak Hill has it does take a stellar defense to beat them.Slone is just one of a lot of very talented players.Good luck the rest of the year.

I saw a post earlier that said Oak Hill is a year away. Haven't they been saying that up there for about the last 3 years?

Tell fido I counted my chickens today and I believe I saw 4 and possibly 5.Just hope the last one doesn't resemble Mechanicsburg. Now on a different note.Slone is the one that did, I think, all the interceptions.AS a matter of fact the Hood to Slone was fun to watch. If he is only a sophomore, and has a decent surrounding cast Oak Hill will be THE TEAM for a couple of years.I guess from reading blogs there is controversy about coaching at OH.Outside observation coaching couldn't have been better. But for one game no definite opinion could be given

If the Oaks would have played the 1st half like they did the second............I wonder..
Perkins was all over the place. The kid had 13 tackles, 6 assists and 1 sack.
IMHO, the Defense did great, except for 3 plays........the three scores. One came on the Tartan's first play of scrimmage and the other two scores- were the same called pass plays. Seven missed tackles, sloppy tackles and 4 turnovers do not help.

They do have 11 seniors playing most of the time:
Fisher, JD Hale, C. Cannon, Dupree
First year starters/but did get some field time last year, though:
Smith, Boggs, Carter, Jenkins, Perkins, Eisnaugle and C. Hale.

Sophomores: Slone, W. Hale, Maynard, Kuhn,(D. Cannon is still injured and is missed...) that do not come off of the field.
Freshmen: Fairchild and Maple on the line and Wood -special teams and back.
If I have left any player off this list I am sorry, tell me about it next week.
The Oaks should be fine....the seniors need to step it up from here on out and get the players on the field, on the sidelines and the fans..... IN the game!
As for my daughter, I am not so sure.
I would like to say to the person that keeps yelling at her father.......
SHUT THE H*)) UP!
You fans need to know what you are doing to the players, coaches and the families- that give of their time. I do not take pictures for the money. I do it for the players (4theKids) and parents..........but if this keeps up, I might have to give it up and find another place to be. Because I am not going to watch my child come on the field, after a game, in tears.
Remarks about play calls, coaching and who should be playing..... is not necessary. It is not only unfair, but it HURTS.
You do not know what goes on in practice, you do not know how players are performing in practice and you do not have the right to complain if you do not
put yourself out there on the field or the sideline.
The coaches can not block for the line, they can not throw, they can not catch, they can not read, they can not tackle and they can not control the turnovers - in any game. Play calling will always be a soft topic, everyone- even myself- has tilted their head at one time or another..................BUT,
either yell FOR your team.........like an observer said----- or don't yell at all!

There I am done, so start the "remarks".

Thought I was done with this thread but after reading above have to respond.Friday night we were on opposites of the field.Tonight we are on the same side. Was already in bed but had to get up and get this off my chest.

The time to be crititcal of your coach is not DURING a game this man is your coach and as such, be given respect by fans that I am sure the players have for him all week. Boorish, insensitive remarks will not do anything but distract the players from what should be their focus THE GAME. 4the kids is right we do not know what occurs at practice, coaches have no control of actual field play and NO control of opposing teams ability. We (East)are blessed with tons of defensive talent, and no my grandson is offense not defense,
Two of our players are if not the best, are very close to the best in the county at their positions. And I know every one will jump in about West,Burg and Minford. No need to this is about Oak Hill. The I thing I can say, one name that is usually called 75%of the time defensively was rarely announced Friday. This tells me the OH coach called plays away from his coverage.VERY smart play calling. Oak Hill racked up very impressive yardage with their offense, must have been good play calling.

And will end with this.East has had lots of wins the last two years.I have been at all of them.Friday was the first time I was on the edge of my seat until the last second. So your coach must have been good.I would find it hard to believe ALL
the other coaches are sub par with bad play calling.
Like 4the kids said East won by two plays, now I can brag, was the two passing TD's by Hood, but he was also intercepted 2 or 3 maybe even 4 times by SLONE.We watched the game again tonight was teasing my boy about the interceptions,in a loving way I might had. This Oak Hill team had the best performance offensively and defensively, including the Oak Hill teams of 2006-7,that I have watched and this even includes our "loss" in the other state. So with that being said, 4thekids I know when a loved one is verbally and publically attacked it does hurt,it can never be justified and I would imagine most of your fans opinions is in agreement with this. And consider the source. And no, I have no idea who it is. Like I always tell my kids and grandkids the only control U have over another person is your reaction.Easy advice to give and very difficult at times to follow.Especially for your daughter.Tune this fellow out, ignore him and and enjoy the rest of the season.

Prediction for the rest of the season:Oak Hill, win, win, win and win.Good luck

Good post 4theKids and East 2005-2008, you both make some very good points. Don't be discouraged by the actions of some so-called fans 4theKids. You and the coaches are appreciated by most. Expectations were high this year, but East 2005-2008 has already pointed out how tough East is. They have lost one regular season game in the last two years and Minford is undefeated.

This sophomore class is highly regarded but they are still sophomores playing against juniors and seniors. Consider the very fine sophomore class at Portsmouth and what their record is so far this year. There will be many wins ahead for this team the rest of this year and in future years.
