No disrespect. Guess I should have said Waverly is having a rebuilding year. Always tough to play the 3 W's but I still think Minford will come out 6-0 after this one. Good luck Falcons.

Minford is # 2 in their region in computer points, ahead of a couple of very good SOC II teams, so they must have played someone. Everyone knows the keys to this game. Minford will need a complete effort on both sides of the ball, as well as special teams, to win this one. Minford is the favorite. Continue to EXPECT to win Minford.

This will be a very good game. Good D against Good D. Offense spread vs running attack. I am not sure who will win.

As for the region scores, Oak Hill gave Minford all those. Nothing to be proud of. I dont think they could compete very well against any of the three W's. Enjoy those points and the more they give Minford. But I dont think they got Minford ready for this game. Minford would have rather played CG then the Oaks before Waverly comes to town. more physically compatible.

My head tells me Minford in this one. Watched Waverly a couple times against Jackson and Franklin Heights. Jackson game Waverly did not look good the first half at all. Could not stop the run. Looked better against FH.

Only question I have is again Minfords schedule to prepare them for this game. Other than CG really not much competition. Would not suprise me if Waverly wins this one and pulls the upset.

My Prediction
Falcons sneak by the Tigers 21-20

Forecast is calling for rain! The X-Factor in this game is coach Daniels and staff. They have come up with a great game plan week after week no matter if they had everybody or not.

Oak Hill is the only team Minford has beaten with a winning record.

Minford 2008
River Valley (2-3) [4:15] W 42-6
Wellston (1-4) [4:15] W 21-13
Huntington (1-4) [5:19] W 34-0
Dawson-Bryant (2-3) [5:19] W 13-0
Oak Hill (3-2) [5:19] W 41-0

Oak Hill 2008
Chesapeake (2-3) [5:19] L 29-30
River Valley (2-3) [4:15] W 33-0
Rock Hill (0-5) [4:15] W 42-18
Northwest (1-4) [4:15] W 34-2
Minford (5-0) [5:19] L 0-41

Waverly has not beaten anyone with a winning record. I think we all expected Piketon to be 5-0 or 4-1 at this point in the season with the only possible loss being to Waverly.

Waverly 2008
Piketon (2-3) [4:15] W 54-53
Jackson (4-1) [2:8] L 20-27
Wellston (1-4) [4:15] W 35-21
Vinton County (1-4) [3:12] W 35-7
Franklin Heights (3-2) [2:7] L 27-49

Throw out the one common opponent (Wellston) and I think Waverly has played a much tougher schedule. With that being said will strength of schedule make a difference? It all comes down to Waverly being able to stop the run.

I agree. Strength of schedule is a concern. I think Wellston played both Waverly and Minford fairly well for what it's worth. This will be game of the week.

You cannot even compare common opponents because Minford was down 2 starters that week, but if it makes you feel better go ahead. You are right, it will come down to Waverly stopping the run and as long as they can key on one player in the backfield they will have done that, right? Oh, and Minford has no passing game either, so I would not concern yourself with that either. Yep, isolate one player on Minford's offense and that will make the difference. Keep thinking that..... ;-)

Stopping the run is not "keying on one player in the backfield". What it means is that Waverly needs to hold minford to small gains on the ground and force them to try to pick first downs by going to the air. It troubles me that that would need to be explained to a person posting on a football forum but there it is.

I couldn't agree more. If Waverly can force Minford to go to the air, they will have the upper hand. I don't feel Minford can compete in a shoot-out so they will try to run the ball.....

You know that Malone is 50% Comanche and 100% mudder. I believe I just saw him doing a rain dance on the front lawn of the school.

Dudley... Just remember that anytime someone on here questions a Minford fan they tend to get defensive. And they tend to twist ones words into something completely different :122245 Just pokin' some fun.

Good luck to both teams and an injury free game. Hopefully this game will be a good, close one for the fans.

Thanks for the education. ;-) Trust me, I completely understand the game and have a little experience too and yes it is beyond high school. If you would have taken the time to decipher what I was saying, you would see almost the whole post was tongue in cheek.

Not defensive at all. Some are smart enough to figure it out (what I posted) and some obviously aren't. :122246
I agree....let's hope for a good injury free game for both teams.

I'll tell you one thing Waverly had better pack their lunchpale, cause this isnt the same 'ol Minford teams of the past, they can knock your chin strap off, or they can run right past you. This is going to be a dogfight til the end and I think all of the fans will get their moneys worth. I think that this is a little different Waverly team also, this may be the fastest Waverly team I've seen, but thank goodness I think that Minford can match that speed.

Good Luck &
Good Health To Both Teams

Go Hard or Go Home
Lets Go RED!!!!!
