Ideas to Raise Money for Athletic Boosters!!!

Post by loyaldevilfan »

As some of you know The Gallia Academy Athletic Boosters are trying to raise money for our new stadium. I wanted to post this to see if we could get some ideas that have worked in other communities that might help us.... I had a couple of ideas....

1) Jeep Poker Run.. Gallia County is a huge Jeep community and I think this is something that would be popular.....

2) I know that if a booster or any organization for that matter can set up a donation booth in front of Wal-Mart and they will match the donations collected in that day.. The date has to be pre-approved by store management but I have seen it happen...... Please feal free to give any info you can and I hope that other Boosters can benefit from this as well.....

N-Y done this
All gifts of $500 or more to the Gallia Athletic Boosters will be recognized on the Honor Roll to be displayed at the Alumni Terrace at the Field. Get some big organizations to help match the money raised

Classifications of ONE TIME donations:

* Blue Devil -- $10,000 and above
* Gallia Academy Club -- $5,000 to $9,999
* blue and white -- $1,000 to $4,999
*blue Club -- $500 to $999
* gallia Booster Gift -- up to $499

that is what the NY boosters did..

Bingo

chinese auctions

sell gas cards

NY has done this for the past couple years...

Good Luck

I used to put together a Logan Football Golf Outing until we moved to Columbus Last year and if I could find 4 or five people to start a committee I would start it up again. It started small and after three years we were able to give the boosters around $1000. If we would have kept it going it would have been more. I would love to start it back up.

I like the engraved brick idea. Jackson did this and it really looks great.

I think that the wet-T contest was a joke...

The drawbacks to selling Blue Devil merchandise would be that 1. Coaches' Corner and Ron's Trophies sell a lot of t-shirts and the like, and 2. some other group (band, choir, or madrigals) was selling stuff at the game Friday.

Bricks would work well...

A poker run doesn't break any OHSAA rules does it... I just wondering.....I thought A Jeep poker run with a Hog Roast...Maybe have some local bands...I know alot of it could be donated....I just wanna make sure before I try something like that,,that it would not break any rules...

THE BASHES (RIPLEY WV, SUMMERBASH) AND SOME OF THE OTHER SCHOOLS --HAVE RAISED A GOOD DEAL OF MONEY IF YO CAN GET IT ORGANIZED...

A CONCERT COULD RAISE ALOT OF MONEY IF YOU HAVE THE SEED MONEY TO GET THE RIGHT BAND IN. AN INSURANCE POLICY IS WISE ALSO.

GAHS COMMUNITY HAS TO GET BEHIND THIS PROJECT TO MAKE IT (STADIUM)A REALITY !!!!!
THEN SOME OF THESE FUNDRAISERS COULD STILL BE AN ANNUAL THING FOR THE PROGRAM...

^^^^^^^I agree.......I have been told that there have been some big donations made by our Alum but we can't expect them to pay for it all......I know the community would support events it is just trying to find the right one.
