Re: WK 7 Nelsonville-York vs. Alexander
in response to the good youth teams, there is often a drastic change, whether its the coaching or the players. when i played from 3rd-6th grade we made the "super bowl" every year (never won....). then jr high hit and we usually had about .500 seasons, then high school hit...and we all know how the past four years of alexander high school football has been. Not saying im not proud, cause we accomplished a lot.
reguarding my comments made earlier. Just because i made the comment about a better team showing up, they were in no way disrespectful. it was just a cold honest statement. as far as the fans leaving early if its a blowout then why shouldnt they leave early? no i didnt not leave but that was because i didnt want to have to walk a mile to my car playing frogger ...and i just enjoy football that much no matter the outcome.
as a player on varsity football for the past four years i will 2nd the comment about not being friends on the field. off the field is fine but not on the field. The coachs also teach about NOT trying to hurt someone, just be better than them.
For the record i will not be attending the bean and H2O dinner. lol. i have a feeling that the H2O may be some of the nasty a$$ guru water, because they probably have a lot in inventory. anyway....
(Sorry for such a long post but i usually only get on here in between classes and had a lot to comment about.)

lets hope they don't come out with some sultan of smack water
Re: WK 7 Nelsonville-York vs. Alexander
Atown our youth program should be about learning the game and fundamentals,Sorry but at Alex only the BEST 11 get to play both way's.Seen it.No disrespect to the volunteers but they need to play more kids, to much talent being lost because of this, once the kids relize it ,they say sc$$w it and then they all wonder why the turn out is so poor for high school.JUST MY OPINION.And no I don't have any kid's playing football just watched'em some.

the best kids should play both ways. How many schools have enough good kids to not play both ways? trimbles 3rd and 4th lost to n.y. because the coaches trried to play everyone. the kids will learn in practice the games are to win. as for alex the kickball team does not help football.

Re: WK 7 Nelsonville-York vs. Alexander
The only thing a kickball team does to a football program is ruin it. Just look at the two county schools that have kickball. They have the two worst football programs in the county as well. That is no coincidence IMO.

I thought this was a football thread? As much as the folks from NY & Trimble talk about soccer on the Alex football threads I'm beginning to wonder if they might be "closet soccer fans."
Before anyone has a cow over that comment, I was just kidding.
Good luck to both teams on an injury free game on Friday.
Good luck Spartans on the W!

JUST SOME THOUGHTS:
BUCKEYES
1. I wish you the best of health and a speedy recovery to those who aren't 100%
2. Play a smart game no penaltys
3. REVENGE is sweet, last year the coaching staff at Alexander spearheaded the drive to strip the tvc title from YOU. Last years seniors never had the chance that you have, to play extra smart and extra hard, SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITY!!! Those past seniors may be able to taste the revenge that YOU reap though, GIT ER DONE for them!!!.
SP...SP...aw heck THE TEAM OVER THERE
1. I also wish you the best of health and a speedy recovery to those who aren't 100%..(ie torn acl & concusion)...
2. Play the best that you ever have, as we would want it no other way...
3. Life has many lessons to be learned as our Seniors found out last year.
In 3 days YOU WILL BE SCHOOLED!!!!!! so be prepared and take notes!!!!!!!
Buckeyes work hard at the practice session tonight, study the scouting report from the first page to the last, with emphasis on the last page as it used to contain very pertinent info. and don't loose focus on this weeks opponent REMEMBER THE SENIORS OF LAST YEAR

Wow! I couldn't get on here for a couple of days and boy did I miss some "smack" talk!
Sorry NYBUX about letting the "secret" out...but, because I lost some brain cells from back in the day when I used to go have a "good time" at the old 33 Club, I sometimes forget and tell things I shouldn't. Yes, I was "one of those" women! Then, I became a wrestling mom, and now that my son is out of school I don't know what to do. I need a new hobby. How about a security job at the football games...JUSTAFAN89 would never get through...I would pick him out in a heartbeat! LOL!
I will say that there was a current high school football coach (not from Nelsonville) who I met at the 33 Club, years ago (we were both kids then), who I went out with a couple of times...even took him to my senior prom. I won't say who he is, cause I don't want to start anything...people would take off with that in a minute! But, I really did have some fun times in that place. There I go...saying too much! LOL!

Re: WK 7 Nelsonville-York vs. Alexander
My fave memory of the Dirty 30 was this:
You;d be sitting there with your friends all talking about how 10th grade is going for you (no lie) when suddenly you'd hear glass breaking, you just knew someone was wasting a nice pitcher of BRAINSTOMPERS, and a fight would break out. This was a nightly thing.
Or you'd be just lit up enough to get out there and dance the electric slide to..............................................................................
DEPECHE MODE (WHAT?!!!!) and some moron would bump the "DJ Booth" and skip the record.
I think I got in there with an I.D. that said I was 28 when I was around 15. But, you never heard of them getting busted for underage. hmmmmmmmm

Re: WK 7 Nelsonville-York vs. Alexander
Yes there is some truth to that, I recently talked to the young man and he is out of his boot in a week, He will be dressed for Ironton but not playing, Maybe a series or two but doubtful he said he wants to wait to see what happens with playoffs to decide rather or not hell play in the V.C. game or not..He said "WHEN" they make it to the playoff's he'll be back in there. His healing process is going three weeks faster than what doctors expected this is truely a miracle and this proves how much this young man loves and is dedicated to football. He last told me all he wants to do is put those shoulder pads back on and hear his name one more time over that intercome and it would be really sweet if he set off that cannon one more time well there is no doubt in my mind that he would. When this young man returns he deserves a standing ovation he has been supportive through the whole season and to think of all the stuff he has gone through thats the least our community could do!GO BUCKS!!!
