Zach Talbert To Return..NYHS

Post by tbuckfever »

Everyones update that might not have heard week one senior captain and starting fullback, 4 year starter, was taken out on a stretcher against trimble due to a dislocated ankle, torn ligaments, and a broken fibula..He underwent reconstructed surgery on his right ankle that following weds. The doctors told him he would be out for 8-12 weeks(Season) Heart broken this young man overcame his will power and wanted to prove the doctors wrong, and prove to himself he isnt mentally weak and let the community and fellow brothers down. Coming into week 5 doctors told him he is healing 3 weeks faster than what he should be and it was a miracle. He starts to walk on it the 8th of October, and starts rehab that week, He will be dressed the ironton and chooses to wait for playoffs to play instead of playing in the v.c. game. This shows how remarkable this young man is going through all he has gone through to overcome such adversity so young. The doctors told him he wouldnt make it back but he will, We get to see this marvelous athelete play one more time in the brown, white, and orange...You are truly someone these little kids can look up to..Go Bucks, And Go Talbert..I hope the bucks punish the rest of the season so this young man's dreams come true!

Good to hear he is recovering faster than what doctors thought he would. I just hope he doesn't try to return to soon and get hurt again on the same ankle when he returns.

I would have to agree with that. Why risk coming back to play one more game vs being able to live a normal life and walk without a limp for the rest of your life?? I saw this kid play early in his career and he is a great player and an even better kid, but I would really really think about risking the ankle again for one game. The playoffs are 4 weeks away, give yourself more time to heal and then re-think it then imo...

I think they are doing that very thing. He has already said he won't play until the playoffs, and I can't see him playing without being medically released by his doctor/surgeon. Good Luck Zack!

Oh sorry about that. I just re-read the first post and it was hard to pick up but saw where it said he will dress for Ironton and wont play until the playoffs.

I hope they need him enough to risk it.

I tend to share your concern for any players health. I would assume that is what the dressing but not playing part is about, to make sure he is able to go. Just my opinion but if there is any doubt he should sit. Too much at stake for a football game playoffs or not.

Here is an update on the "Thunder". I talked to him friday before the Ironton game. He goes back up to Columbus the 29th. But is Talking to another Doctor to get released before then so he can practice next week. This young man is very respectful and one of the most supportive buckeyes ever. Hopefully at the end of the year this kid gets some kind of reward because he deserves it. Good Luck Thunder get those bucks rollin again. With you in the game its a whole different story and i bet arnold is just praisin the day you come back.

Hope to see him back, but I wouldn't want to risk another serious injury to the same ankle. If he is seeing Dr.Keading,if I remember right,Ohio State's football team doctor for leg, ankle injuries, then I don't know that he will release him to play. This Dr.is very good at what he doe's and know's when to release a player to play and he wont jepordize this young man's future for a game.My wife and I delt with him and he is about getting you healed and walking again without a limp.I would like to see him back myself because he would be a great addition for the playoff's. Good luck to him and for a speedy recovery. 8)

Let's try and keep this a secret... whoever NY plays in the first round won't know what to think when they see thunder/lighting after preparing to stop Arnold alone.

This coming from a Meigs fan, I motion to delete this post until after week 11 in case someone from your region reads this...

SEVER ANKLE INJURY+SENIOR YEAR GONE+VENGENCE+27+BUCKEYES=WIN OVER LU..

PLAYOFFS ARE HERE! Talbert should be returning back on the field with his long lost brothers on the N-Y Team.Everyone should come watch this outstanding athlete play with his long lost buddy Lightning. But unfortunatly thunder will be on the other side of the ball. This kid breaths, eats, sleeps and BLEEDS football cant wait to see him play. 11/1/08 is an early birthday present for this oldie!..LU BETTER GET YOUR LINE READY FOR THE TEST OF THEY'RE LIFE..55+27=Defensive Win!

That youngman did not say that to any of the coaching staff i can assure you of that. He is the type of youngman that would play any position on the field to help out his team. Him being injured for the past 9 weeks shows. b.c. he has been an inspiration to that team and didnt quit like a lot of kids would. When he talked to a radio host he told him he will be playing defense more than likely b.c. he feels he can help out the team more there, or thats where they need him more b.c. anyone can do the offensive job but few people have the talen that, that youngman has. If coach told him to go to qb. he would losin his arm. Talented athlete and fine youngman. Please no false reports on this youngman you cant bring him down or put words in his mouth.
