Re: Clay Panthers 2009
defense should be ok but the hitting needs to step up a notch. get rid of bad habbits and play agressive. learn to run the bases. i can remember last year clay running themselves out of innings due to poor base running decisions.

this is true robinson always brings a good team and teaches fundimentals very very well
rosemounter wrote:coach robinson always has a team that is ready to compete. i believe they will slump this year due to the loss of 4 starting seniors.they have some holes to fill but robinson will be ready to play when the season starts.

Well, I am definitly not one to judge...But, I have heard alot about these mcClease kids....I am told he hit .850 last year at piketon. Throws mid 90's. has a pop time of 1.3 seconds. and can run a 4.1 40 time. Now...I had heard similar things about another boy also very similar to this one. My hopes arn't up to say the least.
Here's to wishful thinking...nahhh

and he is a full time karate instructor, cause all these numbers are gonna KICK the bucket
Re: Clay Panthers 2009
Well if he has a pop time of 1.3 then he will not have anybody stealing on him, BUT I really doubt that he has that kind of time nor does he thrown in the 90's. U just wrote that to see what u could get stired DIDNT YA! hahahaha

doubt that he can throw in the 90's. in the last ten years u can count people in the whole county that can throw 90 consistently on one hand and probably still have fingers left. there is a big difference between 85 and 90. especially mid 90's. but then again when i was in school i could chuck a pigskin a quater mile, run a mile in 2 min. flat, throw a baseball 120 mph, and hit well over .999. but that was just me.

Clay, will be fine this year....puckett and pollard will lead the team. Pollard is a great center fielder with alot of experience, and Puckett has become a great shortstop( since he has learned to keep his elbow up.

Well a 1.3 pop time would be rather impressive if you ask me..considering facts like Pudge Rodriguez is clocked at 1.7

Puckett has the most experience on the team! Burchett is a go to man, and can play anywhere on the field(3rd pitcher).
Sounds like you have a little of a man-crush on Burchett and Mckenzie.

Re: Clay Panthers 2009
Not to mention your better hitters are your 3,4,5 hitters........Pollard,Puckett,McCleese.
But to be honest, if Parker and Blanton played for Clay again they would be alot better. Plus, that Kirkpatrick kid that graduated last year was probley there best contact hitter.....as long as the ball didnt come in above his head. Go Panthers, i will be watchen this year.
