Bryan White of Wheelersburg High School committed to
Congratulations to Bryan White of Wheelersburg. He committed yesterday to play baseball at Akron. Big decision between football and baseball, but baseball won out.

Congrats to Bryan! Akron has one of the nicest recreation centers of any of the schools we visited along with a nice campus! Pack warm clothes though, it gets realllyyyy cool up that way.

Good luck to him.
I have watched him play both sports, and I think he made a good decision.
It is good to see any kid from our area, regardless of where he goes to school move on to play a sport at the next level.

Congradulations Bryan, I know how tough of a decision it is to make a commitment like that, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Woby, he was recruited by Cincy, OU, Marshall, Akron as some of the bigger schools, Marrietta, Ohio Wesleyan, and some other smaller schools for football as a LB or whatever they think you can play in college. After visiting Cincy, he was hooked, but got word about a week ago that they were not going to offer him. Akron baseball called on July 1st, as well as a few others, the first day they can offer and he told them he was interested but wanted to see what football brought and see how his senior season went. You know you are not on the top list for football when you don't get offers right away or any phone calls, well you gotta be the size of Cadogan and Prior-lol! You know you are on a top list for baseball if you get phone calls on July 1st. Pat Bangston the head coach at Akron was Coach Estep and Josh Newman's coach while at Ohio State, and currently Brandon has the upmost respect for all of the coaches at Akron, so that means a lot when making a big decision. Akron will have two sets of brothers on the team for 2010. Turocy's and White's. It is exciting to have one son play Div 1 baseball, but even more to have two. Thank God they take after their mom!

Volsfan, is his golf game getting better? I seen him out last summer and could tell he was struggling but having fun. Heck, he has to do something for recreation!! I hope he tries to walk on for football if they would let him. You watch him on tape and he really could be D1 MAC with the right coach. But he is a tremendous baseball player. Good luck Bryan.
