From what I've been told, Athens is DOMINATING every aspect of the game but turnovers have KILLED them. A big one happened with the game tied and Athens about to score on the 4 yard line. They threw an interception which was returned 103 yards for a TD.

Heck of a ball game! Both teams played their hearts out and unfortunately only one team can win. I'm anxious to see the stats. Bottom line . . . stats don't win games . . . points do . . . and turnovers will kill you.

This is what a RIVALRY GAME is all about...
I played in this game 4 times in my career and every game was intense...

I was part of:
(A 17-14 loss)
(A 22-6 loss)
(A 32-21 win)
(A 35-6 win)

Every game close, with hard hits, great plays and tons of fans cheerin'...

Tonight, I felt NY grabbed the edge in the 1st Half...hence the (14-7) Halftime lead.
The 2nd Half, Athens dominated keeping the NY Offense from scoring the entire half (other than the 1 yard dive after the 104 INT)...

The question of the night was...why did Athens throw?
The Game: 14 - 14 Tie
The Time: 7 something left
The Quarter: 4th
The Question?: 1st & Goal from the 4 yard line and Athens passes?

At worst, you run on 1st, 2nd & 3rd and settle for a FG Attempt...

Athens found a way to lose this one tonight and it sucks for the guys because they have busted their bones all season and this would have been a huge WIN for them...

However, Congrats NY, The 'DOC' will remain with you yet again for another year...

Huge play by Chance Fox, congratulations, you don't often get to see a 100+ INT return (especially one at such a crucial point of the game)......

Arnold had 188 yds rushing and HE was disapointed in his performance

This team has not always been dominate, but they have showed a ton of character in adverse situations this year........................ They keep finding a way to win, and that earns a special place in my heart...............

It is easy to win games when you easily crush opponents, but when you have to dig deep and find a way to win week after week, it takes a special group of kids with a tenacious will to win..................
