Minford @ Jackson 1/3
Minford @ Jackson 1/3
Thoughts/ Predictions ? I think this will be a really good game and could go either way.. Chapman is a really nice player for Jackson. Minford will have to contain him .The role players on both teams will be the difference in this one..
Re: Minford @ Jackson 1/3
Jackson should have beat Athens and just didn't play smart basketball. Minford played terrible against Green so neither team is playing well after the long break. Minford must bring their defense and if they do they will win by 10. Jackson's bigs must play better than they played against Athens and if they do this game will be close. If Jackson can improve their fg percentage they have a shot at a good home win.

Wellston coaches here, Tom Barrick here, but most importantly trojandave is here!
Play ball.
Play ball.
Re: Minford @ Jackson 1/3
Jackson escapes with a 2 point victory. Chapman went for 27 and Jackson guarded McBee to 3 points....big guy killed us and just rolled out a shot to beat us. Great energy from Jackson!

Jackson stopped McBee, Minford couldn't stop Chapman. McCray and Howard stepped up and played very well offensively. McBee is gonna get guarded like that a lot going down the stretch so this was a good learning oppurtunity for the Falcons. When he is double and triple guarded, someone has to have an open shot. Trick is to find the open guy, and he has to pull up and shoot it when open.
I've learned one thing watching basketball in Southern Ohio. If you are 6' 3" or taller, and weigh over 200 lbs, the refs let people climb on you like a freaking jungle gym. And if anyone is within 6 inches of you and misses a shot, you fouled them. It's a shame officials don't know how to officiate when big guys are involved. This goes well beyond Minford and this game, it's every team that has a big guy that deals with it. Just an observation.
None of that is to blame the refs for the loss either. Minford had oppurtunities they just didn't take advantage of.

Usually not that much. I'm not sure what he averages. With McBee pretty well contained he was more of a focus tonight. He's just a soph, his future is very bright in Football and Basketball.Ironman92 wrote:Does the big guy usually score like that?
