Meigs53 i am sorry thats impossible meigs will not win the TVC ...and sending Wrestler to state they have maybe one kid that can make it and it a long shot.. i am sorry but dont see meigs winning TVC . but good luck this year meigs and goodjob with the numbers.

miegs53 who are the two that you have in mind
Once was who is the one that you think has a long shot

i think meigs 215 last year was tough and with some work he has a long shot making it to state but he will make it to districs.

ernie would have a good shot if he was still 215 but his road got alot tougher when he moved up to heavyweight. the 189 last year (me) has a super super long shot at making it i went (0-17) freshman year and (7-17) sophmore year not impressive numbers. so my shot at going to state is really long, unless your talkin about colby and it will be tougher for him too because he didnt make it to districs in 171 and he moved up a class. that will be tough

I think that Ernie has the best chance out of all of us at going to state(i am not putting down any of our meigs wrestlers, Because you all have the Heart and potential to do what you want)Ernie has the best shot because he has experience, Leadership, and Heart.

not knockin you guys just take some advice from a old wrestler and a old coach take your season one match at a time, one weekend at a time, don't get ahead of yourselves pratice hard eat right . There is alot of 'being in the right state of mind to wrestling' don't put undo pressure on yourselfs set your goals for each meet feed on your success and build on your failures to become better see you guys on the 6 th
good luck this season

I think it's time I talk for myself... If I have a chance to make it to state awesome... but thats a long road away and I doubt it. I would at least like to just start my season. You first year wrestlers don't realize that high school and junior high are two different realms of talent, and it is tough enough to just place in a tournament. Let's keep the predictions of state out of the picture because we haven't even wrestled in our first meet yet.

Hope to see more kids from SE Ohio make it to OU for the open mats it’s a great work out. My youngest son is a second grader and this is his third year with Yinger and he has finally convinced my sixth grader to wrestle instead of playing B-Ball and he is loving it. They missed last Sunday do to going to the Bengals game (boy that was ugly) but will be returning this Sunday. It’s a great opportunity for all kids of all ages to get a good work out by quality coaches wanting to give back.

Meigs_74,

You are right. Some of those Parents doesn't understand that the Wrestler's has to go through the season first. Then, there is Sectionals, Districts, & State. It's a long road from A to Z. Good Luck to the TVC Wrestler's this year.

Athens looks to be the team to beat this year. They won't dominate every weight class but they have a full line-up with talent which will probably give them the advantage.

Athens has the best over all team. Good thing wrestling isn't really a team sport.

I think that this year this tournement will be tough:

103- Mclaughlin, Nelsonville-York
Efaw, waterford
Crislip Belpre

I don't know who else is at this weight.

112- Reed, Waterford
Dingess, Athens
Leitwein Nelsonville-York
Law Belpre
Fairchild Wellston

This class will be fun to watch, I would give the edge to Reed, but the rest of this class could go either way.

119- Crock Waterford
Rodriguez Athens
Moody Nelsonville-York

This is another class that I don't know all of the wrestlers.

125- D. Hook Nelsonville-York
L. Smith Waterford

130- Z. Hook Nelsonville-York
Miller Waterford
Lazear Athens

This is just something to get everyone talking. These are just my opinions, and should be taken that way. I will try to get thru the rest of the weights as soon as I do some more research. If anyone can help with the many blanks that I left, that would be nice.

This is my opinion. It will be a dogfight for first between Athens and Wellston. The only reason why i leave Waterford, Nelsonville, and Belpre out is because from what I have seen they do not have the depth. But they still have a shot because of the talent they do have.

Like everyone has been saying it will prove to be good competition.
