Many thoughts. All are of Panthers winning by 15 or more.

First game at Chesapeake since they opened season against Huntington St. Joe on December 6th.
Did they get a new floor or something?
Chesapeake 71 Fairland 51

No new floor...just the way the schedule has worked out. Games in tournaments at Athens and Rio Grande already with additional games at Huntinton Prep tourney and Huntington St. Joe Invitational have limited Chesy's home schedule to 7 games this year.
Being road warriors will pay off in late February and early March.

I look forward to both of these games. Atmosphere is always awesome. Packed gyms and river rivalries make January and February worth living!

Big game for Fairland to show they belong. Peake coming off a huge win against Ironton. I'll take Peake, but not in a blowout, about 15 with them pulling away late.

A blowout? Although I have not seen Peake play, I have seen Fairland when they scrimmaged the Trojans, and they look like a good team, although it was early. They played close with us in all but one quarter, even took us to overtime in one. I don't see this game being a blowout. It'll be close, I'm going to go with Peake, but it won't be a blowout.

I've never been a fan of Chesapeake's gym. Seems very undersized for their history.
Hard to believe it's 23 years old now.
I was in middle school during the 88-89 school year when the new high school was completed and we moved out of the community center into the second former high school which is now gone while the original still stands.

Most of the history came in the new gym so I don't guess they knew what to expect when they built it.Chesapeake wrote:I've never been a fan of Chesapeake's gym. Seems very undersized for their history.
Persin was only around for about 2 years when the new school opened.
I don't know how successful Chesapeake basketball was before Norm Persin.

One of the first teams I remember was Rick Edwards, Allen Osbourne, Joe Thacker, Curt Dempsey and James Dempsey.

I understand why now! lol
They had some pretty good teams before that! Don't forget we had the Great Lewis Dantoni at the helm before he was Marshalls coach. Chesapeake had some Pretty good teams throughout the 70's and 80's!
