Fairland vs Chesapeake-----Jan. 6 2012
Re: Fairland vs Chesapeake-----Jan. 6 2012
I don't think Lewis Dantoni ever coached at Marshall, both his sons played there I believe but he never coached there.
Chesapeake was a "good" program before Norm, but never an elite program until Norm took it over.

Chesapeake:
PG Hintz 5'7
G Thompson 6'0
F Noble 6'1
F Kennedy 6'4
F McMaster 6'5
Fairland:
G Madox 5'9
G Riley 5'9
G Fuller 6'3
F Wooten 6'2
C Salyers 6'4
Im not sure how they will match up, but if Chesapeake Playes like they did against Ironton they will be way to much for the Dragons I say 25+.Ironton who had pretty good size with 2 6'4's a 6'3 and a 6'6 and they still had alot of trouble shooting over the size and length of Kennedy and mcMaster. It will take Chesapeake playing to the level of there opponent for it to be close and as we know this very well could happen, we see it all the time. But I dont see Davis letting his squad do that. They will come out of the gates running.

if Salyers plays like he did tonight against meigs i dont see peake winning! but then again it was meigs and they had no idea how to stop him. 26 points 11 rebounds 5 steals and 1 or 2 blocks in 2 1/2 quarters!
can't wait for friday! lets go dragons!!

My gut says Fairland by 6 so I'm sticking with it. I would like to know how will the Match ups be. But either way both teams are 7-1 I think and that place will be packed and loud.
Re: Fairland vs Chesapeake-----Jan. 6 2012

maybe because meigs was 0-8 and they wasnt good cpeake is 10x better and salyers isnt gonna touch mcmaster or kennedy and noble ....had no idea how to stop them ? i dont think theyve ever new how to stop againt any team lol

lololol i stated that it was meigs? so nice try trying to pick that apart. i know meigs is awful but i dont remember salyers missing 2 shots. complete textbook game. and i dont think salyers will gaurd mcmaster. he definitely wont gaurd kennedy because he sits on the 3 point line. but if noble is on salyers. well we will see how that goes :122245 :122245

Panthers by 20. I like the Dragons but the Purple Cats are just too talented. I hope its a closer game but I doubt it.
Hope I can make it.

Re: Fairland vs Chesapeake-----Jan. 6 2012
Fan1990: My projected matchups will be either 6'4 Kennedy or 6'5 Mcmaster guarding Fairlands Evan Salyers. Eric Kennedy gave Irontons Trey Fletcher fits inside b/c of his length. Fletcher got his points when Carter went out and he played guard where he knocked down some long jumpers and used his speed to get ot the hoop. That kind of game isn't in Salyers repertoire he is strong inside and can shoot the ball pretty good from 15ft in. I just see the length of the Panthers causing alot of problems for the Dragons. IMO
CHS-FHS
Kennedy (6'4)-Salyers(6'4)
McMaster(6'5)-Fuller(6'3)
Noble(6'1)-Wooten(6'2)
Hintz(5'7)-Madox(5'8)
Thompson(6'0)-Riley(5'9) or (5'10)
The Dragons haven't seen a defense this year like the Panthers are going to bring to the game. The closest they have seen is a mediocre Oak Hill team and lost to them. Im not sure the Dragons have seen length, speed and athleticism like the Panthers have either.
Fairland (7-1) Schedual so far:
(W) Gallia Academy (2-7) (Gallipolis, OH) 55 - 37
(W) @ St. Joseph Central (6-4) (Huntington, WV) 81-59
(W) South Point (4-4) (South Point, OH) * 69-49
(W) @ Alexander (2-6) (Albany, OH) 69-49
(L) Oak Hill (7-1) (Oak Hill, OH) 54-52
(W) Wheelersburg (1-6) (Wheelersburg, OH) 52-38
(W) Meigs (0-8) (Pomeroy, OH) *80-37
Chesapeake (6-1) Sched. So Far
(W) Huntington ST. Joe (6-4) 80-43
(W) Gallia Academy (2-7) (Gallipolis, OH) 79-41
(W) East Carter, KY (6-7) 76-48
(W) Dawson-Bryant (6-2) (Coal Grove, OH) * 84-26
(W) South Point (4-4) (South Point, OH) * 86-53
(L) Logan Elm (8-0) (Circleville, OH) 40-48 (NO McMaster this Game)
(W) Ironton (7-1) (Ironton, OH) 69-66
Fairland had played one team with a winning Record and Lost.
Chesapeake has played four teams with a winning record and lost to one of them without their best player.
Once again I say Chesapeake 25+

Ok why does Peake get credit for beating Htgn St Joe but Fairland doesn't
Re: Fairland vs Chesapeake-----Jan. 6 2012
the Peake win against Ironton was outstanding and fairland has not played anyone as good as Ironton! The 8 point loss to Logan Elm w/o McMaster was also nice, but guarantee you 1-6 Wheelrsburg would beat Coal Grove or East Carter. Wheelersburg has a bad loss to PW but has also loss to very good Portsmouth, Lucasville Valley, Waverly, and Jackson. So it realy comes down to your VERY VERY nice win against Ironton doesn't compare to any win Fairland has!

Re: Fairland vs Chesapeake-----Jan. 6 2012
Riley is actually 6' tall. Ive saw fairland the last 2games and have watched the Peake this year also. Fairland has
Played too soft to compete with the
Peake. Salyers will be a load, but the rest
of the dragons are inconsistent. Especially
the seniors. Fuller and Riley have scored
in double digits this year, but not
consistently. They will both have to step
up to give the Dragons a chance. The
Dragons are athletic and good enough
to take down the Peake if they believe
it and not play TIMID or SCARED.

Chesapeake by 17...67 to 50...up 11 with with 1 minute left and the Dragons start to foul. Chesapeake makes free throws to seal the deal...this is how the game will go. :12224

I still see this as a 15+ point win for the Peake, but anything can happen. I can't wait though. Place will be packed and rockin'. This is how this rivalry is supposed to be! Two great teams, great records, battling for the OVC and more!
Go Peake!
Go Peake!
