This tournament is fun to watch always! I think there will be great matchups and as always, it's a great two days for the county. I think when kids play kids they know and heard so much of (at home), it is much tougher to play, and that's why you throw the records out.

Western will be ready to play. I see them playing hard against the Streaks. Western is very talented, and they are capable of beating anyone any given night. There is a lot of experience on their team and that means a lot! The kids are winners and have tournament experience; that is priceless! Coach Harrop will have the Indians ready for the streaks.

Piketon is finally starting to get healthy...with that being said, they are beginning to gel and I expect good basketball for the tourney. We've survived the flu with several players, injured knees, injured ankles, etc...(as most teams suffer)...Lucky (?) for us, the flu got us early on, now hopefully we can focus on winning and move forward with wins throughout the year. The "X" is on our back, but we feel it is everygame, so we're learning to play that way. I still believe Piketon hasn't come close to playing their best basketball...hopefully we'll see it! :122245

Eastern has won games early, and seems to be playing well. They will give 100% and from what I read on here, not many people give them much chance...That's crazy....in this tournament, anything can happen and usually does. It seems as though many are sizing the Eagles an the "underdog"...this tourney has proven to be supportive of "underdogs"...and is it ever easy to play with no pressure on you. I expect them to play well against Waverly.

Waverly has good talent, and being the host, always has an impact on the tourney. It will be fun to watch as the freshman point guard gets his first taste of the Holiday tournament pressure. Coach Robertson will definitely have them ready and playing well

Look forward to next weekend and the following Tuesday night....until then, have a great Christmas, and prepare yourselves for great basketball fun!!! Can't wait!

well said Coach- however if anyone wins this tournament except Piketon it will go down as the biggest upset since- well- since Waverly beat Piketon in football--- i dont care how good anyone plays- there is no way anyone beats Piketon.

You gotta be kidding me!You think Piketon is that good?As an Eastern fan I will not argue for them because you will just say i'm biased(i am lol)but Western has the talent to beat Piketon not saying they will but your not even giving them a chance, and Waverly is as good if not better than Piketon.I'm tired of hearing Piketon is going to just roll through this tourney. These games are'nt played on paper,And Piketon has a bad habit of looking ahead.Good luck all teams!!!C everyone next Saturday!!

Outsider79,

What an idiotic post. I think everyone knows from past tourney's that any of the four teams could walk out of there with the championship.

The other teams will love that bulletin board material.

Having seen both Waverly and Piketon play this year I will say there isn't that much difference between those two teams. From what I hear Western is also bigger and better this year.

I would say you might want to go back and delete that post.

Looks like Football would have taught people on here a lesson about posting abou blowouts. I remember Piketon was going to roll through the SVC in Football also.

I don't completely disagree with him. From the way the teams are playing right now, Waverly is the only team that should challenge them, I mean sure Western could upset them, but I doubt it. You say Western is bigger and better....They might be by the end of the year, but they have started off slow and if they don't wake up and play like they should or can, Piketon will spank them. I haven't seen Piketon play but the way it sounds, a Waverly and Piketon matchup would be a good game. I don't see either of them getting upset in the first round, neither Western or Eastern are good enough to pull it off. Maybe if it were later in the season. I hope I eat my words but....

If any of the three teams have played the schedule Piketon has. they all would be 1-4 or 0-5. And if Piketon would have played any of there schedules, Piketon would be undefeated. Piketon will win each game by 15+

If you make someone else other than Evan Legg handle the ball Piketon is in trouble. That being said, Piketon does do a good job of getting the ball in his hands, but eventually some other guard is going to have to step up and help him out,I've seen Piketon play twice and Legg was flat wore out by the 4th qtr.Cin Montessori did'nt have half the talent Piketon does and they cut a 17 pt 1st half lead down to 2 by pressing and wearing him down.I respect Piketon they have alot of talent with Brabson,Smith,Southworth, etc.but I really think they need another ball handler to help Legg out to be a complete team.

I agree it should be a Piketon - Waverly final, but for someone to say Piketon can't be beat is just nuts.

I am a diehard Piketon guy but I doubt Piketon would beat Oak Hill.

Then you said

Which is it?

Apparently you didn't see Jared Vulgamore take over for Legg in the second half at Zane Trace, or handling the point vs. Mifflin. I think Coach L. took care of that after the Montessori game. I look for Legg to play some at #2G as the season goes.

Anything goes in this tournament...Two years ago Western was suppose to beat everyone by 20, and Piketon beat them by 20....I'm sure they will be looking for a little revenge!

Piketon has Jared Vulgamore and James Lewis as back up point guards. These two are inproving every game and by the end of the season if not sooner they will be really tough and will be able 2 give Legg plenty of help. Legg has did a very good job so far this season and will only get better and make the team better as the season goes on. Also, Legg still hasnt played his best ball yet this team will be super scary win he does. Back to Vulgamore and Lewis these 2 are just as good if not better then the PG's for Wav, Western and Eastern.

With Piketon being the fav the other teams have a lot of motivation to play them. But heres some for Piketon, Piketon was supposed 2 play Wav first this yr but some how it got changed 2 Piketon playing Western :122246 haha and the Holiday Classic is usually a 2-day thing but this year there is a extra day in btween the 1st game and Championship game haha maybe 2 prepare and rest for the winner of the Piketon-Western game  . Im going with Piketon in this one because they are startin 2 flow and Lisath along with the rest of the coaching staff will have these boys hungry and fire in there eyes.

I agree with J-Bird....with all this Piketon and Waverly hype...it would be very sweet to have a WEstern-Eastern final and let the "big" schools play in the Consolation!

Beaverlover may be onto something. about the PG position. I really don't see how Piketon's subs could be better than the starting guards on the other teams? If that is true and just homeschool bias, then the Streaks should be unbeatable?

I think the game schedule might have something to do with the fact that Eastern and Western are in the same league now. One year they played four times (they met in the tourney)

I don't think this tourney has been held on back to back nights in several years.
