Re: WEEK 9 ~ Marietta AT PORTSMOUTH
I hope that Justin Smith makes a full recovery.......I was thinking of him as I walked out of the stadium......I'm glad he has movement and is talking........always a scary thing to see a kid get hurt like that...........
Congratulations to the Tigers on the win.......without question, Marietta had the best passing game Portsmouth has seen in quite a while, maybe since the days of Grant Gregory of Athens several years ago. The Trojans simply could not slow down Westbrook or his receivers..........Adam Bray of PHS made a nice TD on the interception..........
To all our kids, I know it's been a tough season, but keep your heads up, because regardless of our record, or our place in the league standings, ALWAYS REMEMBER.......YOU ARE TROJANS, OUR TROJANS............
I will be there next week to cheer on the Red and Blue............

Portsmouth , STILL Does Not Want In The SOC....
They Will Be Just Fine Where They Are At.
Besides, They Are Already Playing The SOC Teams That Are Capable Of Giving Them Any Compitition, And Has Even Been Beating Them.

This is a game that I think will be a very close defensive battle.
I guess I was wrong on that one.
One thing I didn't get was all the onside kicks from Marietta?
Did they travel all the way down here on the cheese? I saw 2 Marietta school buses and no charter bus. Talk about a long ride on a bus.

we trusted our defense so much we didnt mind giving up that good field possition if we didnt get the onside
allowing only 31yds in the first half

The onside kicks were both when the game was relatively close. We did ride on the original school bus, we tried to get Charter buses but none were available. On the way down we had to stop at two rest areas to get out and walk around a little. How is Justin Smith doing now?

I think it was pretty clear that we would have trouble stopping your O, and I can see how would have no fear giving up field position to the Trojan O either. I guess I see the game plan behind the kicks. I know a few years back Wheelersburg started off a game with 3 onside kicks. We were down 21-0 before our O ever took the field, and we came back to win that one, so I see your point.
The last I heard Justin was on the doing well. (This was Saturday; maybe someone else can give some more info)
