Re: Meigs 21 Alexander 8
21-8 was not the final. That was the half time score.
The final was 41-15.
Alexander scored on the first play of the second half to make it interesting. There was offense explosion in the third quarter. Meigs put up 20 point. alexander could have scored three times, but only found the endzone once. Meigs made some plays in the endzone to stop some scoring opportunities.

Re: Meigs 41 Alexander 15
Unreal story I heard last night after the game.
A Meigs coach stood on the Alexander side of the field, around the 25 yard line, with headphones to communicate across the field in the first half. When he was asked to go back to his side of the field or to the press box, he would not leave. He was escorted from the game at half time by sheriff deputies. Story goes that the Meigs coaching staff threw a fit about it after halftime really showing themselves.
It is sad that we ask our kids to play with character and integrity, but coaches will bend rules almost to a point of breaking them in order to finish in next to last place in the league.
Go Alex.

You should tell your players to play with characterspartans_fan wrote:Unreal story I heard last night after the game.

I agree, parents are the one's responsible for teaching their kids character. I do tell my kids that. Glad you agree.george wrote:You should tell your players to play with characterspartans_fan wrote:Unreal story I heard last night after the game.

I heard the same thing, however he wasn't over there to gain anything from the game,he was over there to say something to the coaches because there were words exchanged between coaches when your kids were tackling our kids by the heads, even kicking them when they were on the ground. Literally sen this on MANY plays. Some was grabbing facemask from behind and pulling backwards, It was worse then anything I have seen in NFL.spartans_fan wrote:Unreal story I heard last night after the game.

But anyways, that coach had enough and went over, exchanged words, went to turn around and leave and then one of your alls coaches started at him again, so he turned back around.
I have no problem with any of the Alexander boys, some are very good kids, but they played dirty last night.

Re: Meigs 41 Alexander 15
And just to clear it up, the score was 13-8 after first quarter, that coach went over in 2nd Qtr. We scored one more TD in that time to make it 21-8 at the half.
So if you're saying we were cheating, I don't see it. Because 34 points was scored when he wasn't over there...lol
Oh yeah Chase Harris can hit....lol

Re: Meigs 41 Alexander 15
you will be hard pressed to find anyone in the TVC that has watch our kids play this year that says our kids play dirty.
There were a lot of personal foul penalties called. It was a very tightly called game. There was no home field advantage last night.
Go Alex.

Re: Meigs 41 Alexander 15
Wasn't saying it was a season thing, saying it was a last night thing, emotions high, wanting to end the season on a winning note. All the penalties were very well warranted and obvious. horsecolors and tackling by the helmet on several.spartans_fan wrote:you will be hard pressed to find anyone in the TVC that has watch our kids play this year that says our kids play dirty.

Point was you were pretty much calling us cheaters because of a coach having words...No he had no right to be over there, but it wasn't for gaining any advantages.

Re: Meigs 41 Alexander 15
Congrats to Meigs on ending on a big note. Lots of adversity this season, well done job by Coach Bratrum and staff, kids always played hard and were in position, little luck and this would have been a much different season.

Re: Meigs 41 Alexander 15
I never called anyone a cheater. May have implied a lack of character, but did not say cheater. Those were your words. There wasn't any dirty play last night. A few warranted calls and a few overreaction calls.
Meigs was the better team and would win a game with Alexander 9 out of ten times. I was just telling an interesting story hoping people would react about rules interpretation or the like. I have always heard if you aren't cheating you aren't trying. I was not even implying that about the story from last night. Just found it interesting.

WOW!!!! I sadly agree. I've tried to stay supportive the last few years but things are just out of control.george wrote:ma77ox wrote:I heard the same thing, however he wasn't over there to gain anything from the game,he was over there to say something to the coaches because there were words exchanged between coaches when your kids were tackling our kids by the heads, even kicking them when they were on the ground. He was tossed, And this was his first year ever coaching. I asked my boy about it and he said he didn't even know it happened.MeyerSpread wrote:WOW!!!! I sadly agree. I've tried to stay supportive the last few years but things are just out of control.george wrote:ma77ox wrote:

If it was his first year or a 40 year coach he had no business going over to the other sidema77ox wrote:He was tossed, And this was his first year ever coaching. First year coach or not this falls back on the head coach for team management, game management and hiring someone with this type of temperament.... embarrassed to be a Marauder right now.

I am not claiming it was right. I am simply saying it was not for CHEATING purposes, like the guy tried to make it sound.
