And 35 or 40 of that came on one pass play that I'm still not sure the boy caught. It sure looked like it bounced form my point of view and both officials were behind the play.

Still, great game on both sides of the ball by the Pirates. They dominated the line of scrimmage and were in Waverlys backfield as much as the Tigers RB's were. Jordan Schankweiler probably had 150 to 200 yards rushing and had one 75+ TD run called back. Nice job by Nick Kemper and Brian White tonight of getting pressure on Roback and sacking him a few times and of the entire defense in shutting Waverly down.

Great job boys. Now it's time to go and take care of the Siders and win the SOC II title and wrap up that #1 seed in the playoffs.

The thing that was suprising to me was the how much everything revolved around Roback. IMO, the coaching staff has forgot about other players and have put a tremendous amount of pressure on this young man. The defesnsive secondary was not very strong. This was not a typical Waverly team.

Burg looked good most of the time last night. The two series just before half werent real sharp in play selection or clock management. Players and coaches need to understand the situation.

I was very impressed with the defensive pressure put on last night. Coach May did a good job getting White and Kemper in the backfield. I thought the D line did a fine job in containing Roback and forcing him to make some quick decisions.

Looking forward to next weeks game.

I think the coaches knew they had the game in hand and decided to work on some new stuff. I would think it would be better to look at these situations during a game that you have locked up than to try one against a team in a close game.

I have to agree with wobycat. In looking at how his hands are on the ball in the last picture, I would have to think that the ball hit the ground as he came down, but nevertheless, it was still a nice layout and catch and it didn't factor into the game as Waverly still wasn't able to score.


I have to agree with Bama in that the entire offense was Roback and man did he take a beating last night. He was hit on almost every play. Bricker might as well expect the same thing this Friday.

Overall, nice game by the Pirates. Had some nice pass plays and they ran the ball very well. Still don't understand why they are rolling B. Schank out to his left and making him throw back across his body. Hasn't worked well at all. He is better when he rolls to his right and is able to get set up.

I also agree this photo doesn't prove he caught the ball. I never disputed that he got his hands on the ball, which your picture proves, but I think the ball hit the ground when he came down with and he trapped it, which your picture doesn't show. Where's the rest of the sequence of photos that show the catch all the way to the ground?

Like others said, it didn't have any impact on the game other than to pad Robacks passing stats since the Tigers still couldn't score so it doesn't matter.
