Lucasville Valley

Bo Crabtree- Should be in the mid- 50's or better in the shot and mid 160's in the disc.

BJ Coleman- Should push 150' in the discus.

Joey Brickey- Should push 50' in the shot.

Eric Stevens- Will push both Brickey and Coleman and could very well beat them.

Jordan Arbaugh- Looking to better her discus toss last year, should be in the mid 120's by league.

Adrienne Buckler- Should be around 35' by league.

Carrie Coriell- Freashman, Could make some noise.

I cannot remember their names but a girl fron Notre Dame and one from Oak Hill. Also heard there may be a sleeper from Waverly on the girls side.

Actually, I didn't. Manchester is not in the SOC and he graduated last year.

Ryan weakley of northwest was throwing between 130-140 in discus last year as a sophmore, i look for him and crabtree of valley to compete heavily this year!

The Waverly Girl as an 8th grader threw 104 in the Middle School State meet to take first last year. I watched her in a middle school meet and she threw with a lot of power and will have good size as a freshman. Burton from Oak Hill is better in the shot, but I would say her discus will be improved. Arbaugh threw 113 last year so it will be interesting to see what she does this year. My advice to you Tartan is to get in the weight room make sure you are doing some CLeans, snatches, maybe even some explosive box or jump squatting with light weight along with any absolute strength lifting like bench and squat. Train to be explosive at the right time. Do not neglect core work along with rotational type work on those areas of the body. Make sure that you are just not throwing to be throwing with bad technique. Think about what things are most important to the throw and what you need to work on.

Listen, it is going to take way more than 130-140 to beat Bo Crabtree. We think he can make a run at the state championship here in Columbus and from the looks of it, nobody in the SOC will be able to touch him.

140 can make it to State...I could have made it last year with my top throw of 145ft but sadly I choked.

Division doesn't matter in Discus...its more like the region you are in. Some D1 regions might get killed if they were in a certain DII region.

weakley will probably be throwing farther than that this coming season because he competes in power lifting tournaments when he is not in track he may be able to reach the 160's-170's and maybe just maybe the 180's...im not sure though!

Weakley needs more than strength to reach 180 feet. His technique is not there yet and his size is against him. He will do very well to reach 155 feet.

Now Dale Swords, if someone just taught him half-decent mechanics, WOULD have a shot at the state. It is amazing how far he throws with essentially no training.

Last year's SOC returnees:
(Still have a few meets to add):

Shot Put: (40'+)

R*Bo Crabtree (LV) (11) 51-5** (8th)
O*Dale Swords (PW) (11) 46-2 ¼*
R*Erik Stevens (LV) 46-2
R*Joey Brickey (LV) (10) 46-1 ¼*+
O*Dustin Robinson (Wb) (11) 44-1 ¼
O*Zach Frowine (Wb) (10) 43-10 ½+
W*Brian Evans (Wv) (10) 43-4 ¾+
W*Caleb Downing (Wv) (11) 43-3 ¾

Discus: (100'+)

R*Bo Crabtree (LV) (11) 145-2*
O*Dale Swords (PW) (11) 140-6*+
O*Dustin Robertson (Wb) (11) 136-9
O*Ryan Weakley (NW) (10) 136-7 ½+
R*BJ Coleman (LV) (10) 134-11*
R*Erik Stevens (LV) 134-11
C*Jacob Leslie (WL) (11) 117-4+
W*Brian Evans (Wv) (10) 110-4

+placed district
*advanced to regional
*+placed regional
**qualify to state
**() place at state

R-Oak Hill Division III district
W-Chillicothe II district
C-Chillicothe III district
O-Oak Hill Division II district

I think Bo will win both shot and disc...Swords will be up there and would have a chance of winning and/or going further if he actually had more training like drrabbit stated...If Dale wins its on power alone. Robertson and Weakly will all be up there too

Those numbers are district numbers right? Because I think Bo went beyond those numbers last year when it came to regionals and state. To be honest, if he keeps stringing it out there, nobody will touch him.

No he threw 50-6.25 I believe finishing 2nd at the Regionals and then he threw the distance drrabbit listed at the state meet...he didn't make it to state in disc...I believe.

That disc distance is what he threw to beat myself and a man from Waverly at the SOC if Im not mistaken

There are some regular season meets not included but all league championships, district, regional and state are included so he probably did not throw further last year.
