no sense in crying over something like that. What do you think happens at the bottom of every pile. If you aint biting, poking, scratching and twisting down there you shouldn't be on the field. The only different is this boy got caught by some fans. I say good effort to that kid. Do what ya can do to win.

Yea good call! Let's encourage a little Albert Haynesworth in all HS kids!!
Thats the dumbest thing I've heard! We all know what goes on in the piles, but don't sit here and say its ok and that It was a good effort to try and step on a kid!! What if it was your kid that got step on and it hurt him pretty bad? You'd be throwing a fit for a penalty or even suspension!
People like you who probably get mad at the kids playing and cuss them out when they mess up too, right?

You do what you got to do to win on a battle field and even then you are restricted by a set of laws/rules. High school football is hardly a battle field and it certainly isn't the place to kick in someones teeth.
I hope your post was bluster and not how you really feel.
BTW, I'm not referring to the original post. I wasn't there I didn't see what happened. I'm talking in general to the comment from lotlizard.
I was there, didn't see it but did hear some remarks about it.
I am certainly not defending this type of behavior but the player involved does not have a history of this type of behavior soooo I bet somewhere before this "play"something similiar and not so obvious was done to him.Maybe another player took a cheap shot from this boy and his teammate responded.Don't really know though just guessing.East does not have to resort to these tactics to win. So for some reason emotion overcame good sense which does happen even in adults.

It is called Unsportsmanlike Conduct. 15 yard penalty.

I agree with your post in that emotions can overtake a person.
I am willing to bet Coach Hall has already addressed the issue.
Of course he addressed that night, but it will really get addressed Monday at practice

Re: Poor sportsmen ship
I was at the game and in the pressbox spotting the entire game! I did not see this happen; that is not to say that it didn't happen! I can promise you this; if one of the coaches saw this happen and it is on film, he will be dealt with accordingly! Coach Hall or any of his staff do not subscribe to this type of play and the players that do will most definetly pay tremendously in practice all week.
Now, if we are talking about the play where the South Gallia player was down on the field for several minutes on the East side of the field! Then, hihat you have no dog in that fight; or complaint for that matter! That player wgot completely starched on that play and it was not poor sportsmanship in any way! This player took a shot and got a helmet in the chin and was about knocked-out! I seen this with my own eyes! And, have watched probably 5 or 6 times since Friday night! And, I might add; that I never saw any thing that resembled poor sportsmanship in the game from either side of the ball! Now, it could be that this was not caught on tape from the angle that I saw! So, I'm not saying this didn't occur!
And, if I do find out that this occurred, I will let you know and say that it was wrong! I am greatful that no player received any serious injury during the game. I have played or coached football my entire life except for this season. There is not one game that you don't hear kids after the game talking about this number or that number did this to me or that to me! It is a part of the game that has been in existance for over 100 years! But, a blatant foul is never acceptable in any or form of the game.

Oh I agree with you 100% but they are the only team I have played that has done it...Im not even gonna say that some of BURGs players dont do it I just havent seen them personally and obviously fans havent seen enough to create a stereotype

Last time Burg played at west, i saw it at least 3 times. Kids down on the ground and a West kid stomping on them as they walked by. No stereotyping, just is what it is. I wish one of the boys would have gotten up and smacked the sh## out of the kid personally. Would have made me feel better.

Yeah I know I was there...getting stepped on and pinched. Trust me when I say there were plenty of us who would have taken great pleasure in "smacking the sh##" out of those players but we had playoffs to worry about and you dont want to be suspended for the first round.
