Re: East 08-09
From what I saw on the Eastern-Pike thread, Easts schedule looks much easier (although they share Coal Grove as a non-leaugue opponent).

Clay and Ironton St. Joe are worthy opponents as well. ISJ returns the reigning District 13 P.O.Y.

Not knocking ISJ...but they are not of the caliber of Minford, Northwest, Southeastern, or the teams in the Holiday classic that are on Eastern's schedule. I think Eastern's schedule is EXTREMELY tough for D-4.
Just an outsiders observation.

Minford is a good team and Northwest I would say around average.
I dont know what Southeastern has but I would say they will be down this year with Jordon leaving. You cant lose that kind of leadership from a Head Coach that has been there for so long and expect to be a good team the next season.
Again, I dont really know anything about those three teams and what kind of team they have, just an outsiders observation.
Good luck to Eastern this year!!!

I think Northwest has been a little better than ave the last couple years. JMO
Like I said, it was just an outsiders opinion. I havent heard much about Northwest in awhile. I could be completely wrong. I wasnt disagreeing with Eaglesnest either, just giving my opinion. The three opponenets he mentioned are definatley worthy opponents.

Playing Burg in a scrimage game the 2nd of next month will help the Tartans out alot come the first couple games. I am interested in watching how Coach Bradford has his kids ready and the style they will play with this year.... I would almost like to see them run teams alot more this year with the speed they have.

They have had really good teams these past few years, just couldn't finish games, a bunch of 1 to 5 point losses...there 9-11 records really don't show the talent that these teams had...Hopefully this year they shake off these nagging problems and compete for the soc title!

Not sure about that, but I believe they got a kid near the end of the year last school year from Minford who is on the team. I will talk to a couple people to see if it is true, wish I had seen this earlier I would have asked them a few minutes ago.

After looking at the roster for the Tartans Varsity team this year, this team could be fun to watch and play just about any style...With who is on the team, It would be interesting in watching how this team does and game running with another team.
