So... Word through the grapevine: Valley lost their starting catcher to Notre Dame. Good luck breaking in someone to catch a D1 commit and to make routine throws in less than 2 months.

Wow, the season is less than a month away. I can't believe it. I figured there would be more talk about the season, but I can understand in year's past how tempers flaired, lol. Good luck to all are teams including my Minford Falcons.

Burg will be a team that will be in the mix. Lots of good freshman and sophmores. Burg will have some big sticks also in Rachel Blair, Abby Sparks, Taylor Dempsey.

Does anyone know how Alex Kuhn is progressing as a pitcher, I know she made great strides last year?

the season is next week , who looks strong ? Newsome from Burg looked great in our scrimmage with them. Welch from West ports threw well against us. . I'd lean Valley since they have quite a few kids with lots of experience and two D-1 players including the all important pitcher. Minford , Waverly , Burg and West will be fighting for top dawg also. Wouldnt be surprised for the winner to have a couple loses this time round. very balanced field of teams. MD

I agree with ManitouDan about the winner of the SOC 2 having a couple losses. My prediction is a 2 or 3 way share in the title with the battle being between valley, burg, minford, and maybe waverly. Hopefully the weather cooperates this year unlike last season so the teams can get in stride quickly to their true potential.

Waverly will win the SOC, Valley pitching is not that strong and overrated.

Sharpie if you are going to throw out your opinion on who will win soc2 do so without making yourself look like a fool by dogging another teams pitching please. I really hope that you are just trying to stir the pot and not from waverly, clearly valley is in the drivers seat and the soc2 is theirs to loose. Valleys pitching is well above average and the fact that their pitcher is going d1 backs up that claim.
I am a huge waverly fan and yes they will win their fair share games this year but if you know anything at all about softball you relize that the statement you made doesnt hold water.

SOC2. 1-VALLEY
2-BURG
3-WEST/NW
4-WAV/MIN

Alex pitched against us just after her basketball team was eliminated...she did pretty well. All power. Oak Hill has some good players and could give some of those top teams some occasional trouble.

Yes, I believe Ashley Webb is playing at Valley. They had her at SS at the last scrimmage but I think she's also taken some pitches at catcher as well

Thanks.....daughter played with her one summer. She made some of the best plays at 3rd base that I have ever witnessed.
