I think as Hank Leslie, Chaise Hall, and Kreig Crabtree all coming back for the varsity last year should be good basketball team. But I believe there will be one or two senior players returning with eric thompson for as all i kno.......Hopefully this is a good year

GO MOHAWKS!!

northwest will be tough this year but they are losing some talent at the gaurd play as spriggs a very good 3 point shooter...and in the post was ronnie strickland...he was a big part in their inside game and the rebounding game...this year should be a good year in the soc2

It is true that strickland was a key asset to the inside with his size he helped keep pressure off leslie and was able to get some boards and some garbage buckets, but overall he lacked in the scoring area which is where i believe kenny crabtree will be stronger in, playing with him some this summer it appears like his 10-15 foot jumper has improved and although he is undersized he is very scrappy....spriggs on the other hand is gonna be pretty hard to replace he was just an all around player with one of the best strokes around!

Me and spriggs went down to play in the open gym today...firstly let me say it's amazing how fast you can get out of shape ...but anyway chase hall seems to have improved a ton since last year also ethan tolle has a lot of potenetial, he's strong and plays pretty smart just needs a bit more hustle to him! just some things i picked up playing with them today!

Yes last year when I watched Northwest play, their underclassmen played pretty good for example Hank Leslie very talented, Chaise Hall great point guard but seems like he got a little bit to nervous last year at times, Kreig Crabtree very nice shooter. But then again they were playin with some very good seniors last year in Stefan Spriggs, Ronnie Strickland and Justin Malone. I would have to say Spriggs would be the hardest to replace out of those seniors jus because he could have played anywhere the coach put him, and he was a great player. but look for the MOHAWKS to take either 1st or 2nd in the SOC 2!!!

GO MOHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed on the Eastern-Pike thread that Eastern plays Northwest this season. How do you think that game will go? Will you be too much for the eagles or should it be competitive?

Thanks.

Well im not sure what eastern-pike has, one thing they need to have is a good big man because with northwest having leslie that could get ugly fast without one, also can they play zone and man at the same level because some nights northwest will come out and they won't miss a shot others they will be lucky to hit bunnies..just how it's always been for us!!, so if they have a solid big man and can play both zone and man it should be a competitive game....also if they press... northwest the past few years has really struggled with that i don't know if they will this year or not if they do struggle it could lead to some problems this year!

Coach Scarberry will have the Mohawks playing competitive basketball. Hank Leslie had a monster game vs. my Trojans last season, and I look for him to have a big year in 2008-09. Although I am picking Oak Hill to win the SOC II, I think Northwest could finish in the top 3.
