bengalfan,

that was definately one of the best games that season for both teams. Wellington was a heck of a player as well.

Waverly has a solid team this year. Who are their main subs this year? Do they have anyone who is really versatile that can play pretty much anywhere? With that team out there, I'm sure one of those kids could possibly start at other schools I hear. Talented bunch they have.

There is less kids playing baseball in waverly than ever - all the way to little league- less teams every year. As far as AAU- its no different than playing american legion for baseball or weightlifting for football- you have to do what you can to get better at what you like.

If a young man loves baseball then he should play legion and improve his game but just because you do it doesn't mean you will get a scholarship to play baseball. Be the best you can in high school at the sports you like the most and if you do your best college will take care of itself- the most important thing is getting the grades!!! By the way its not like Waverly has been stocking the colleges with baseball players who play 4 years and contribute.

Mr Ryan Robertson has a chance to play somewhere, as does Luke Teeters and its because they love the game and have worked hard at it! If neither would have an oppurtunity to play at the college level that doesn't mean they didn't have good careers in high school and the time and money spent on traveling and playing legion baseball was a waste- it means the opposite -that the time and money they spent to get better made them better- some times we make it sound like unless a kid plays in college that they are not successful and that is not correct-- Be the best you can in high school!!! If you get the opportunity to play beyond that consider yourself blessed and rewarded for your efforts and if you don't get to play beyond high school at least you know in your heart you did everything you could to be the best that you could!

Good luck to the Tigers!!!

I agree. People don't realize sometimes that everyone doesn't go and play college sports. The percentage is very small.
