Re: WK 10 Coal Grove vs. Fairland OVC Championship
What about weather? I heard we were supposed to get rain...
That could make for a nasty game. Could possibly take away some from Fairland's quickness... advantage Grove? Thoughts?
But then again... I remember a few years ago when Fairland played at Chesapeake... it looked like a muddy woodstock on the field... and it was thought before the game that nobody would be able to move the ball, but just a few plays in there's a big scrum along the sidelines and Kersey popped out from the pile and bolted about ... what... 50 yards... for a touchdown run. They seemed to take much better advantage of the mud than the heavily favored Panthers.

quote="greenandwhiteboy"]telling by ur name im guessin ur a kicker or used to be one so i already can tell u dont kno football. Cornwell can also run to the outside he doesnt juss run up the middle and juss cause he runs up the middle doesnt mean u can tackle him. this year will be a repeat beating of last year Dragons 36-14 and they get a share of the title.
Go Dragons!!!!
let me tell u some thing cornwell is just a pud the grove's d-line will stop him ever time he run's the ball.
they couldnt stop him at previews and they wont be able to stop him this friday and plus once u start worrying about him u have bloomfield and hatfield to watch out for so i wish coal grove luck cause they are gonna need it
the grove's d-line is made up with speed and strenth so cornwell has no chanc
do you play for coal grove or are you retarded? hopefully your smart enough to know after the chesapeake game, fairland is feeling it. i hope cornwell runs it right down your throat.

The Tailgate starts around 6:00 at the Citgo (EXXon) end of the field.
Re: WK 10 Coal Grove vs. Fairland OVC Championship
Okay!As of right now I don't have to work so I should be there around 6:30ish!
Re: WK 10 Coal Grove vs. Fairland OVC Championship
CG has more speed than they've had in years-and they have strength on the o-line and d-line!!! CG hasn't had a qb that could pass like sparks in years or run the ball!!! he's good to get away from the defender either way!!! then you have delawder , brammer and woods to run the ball!!!!!! If these boy's want it bad it enough-it should be by the end of the night!!!!
They know the dragons have some good talent on the team-they just can't underestimate them!!!
BUT YOU GOTTA GO WITH HORNETS ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!
GO HORNETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All three deep men for the Dragons can take it to the house at any given moment and if they decide not to kick it deep well.... thanks for the feild position! plus I don't even have to mention punt returns for the Dragons, CG will have the same promblem.
whos fairland gunna kick it to??? cg has the fastest kid in the league haynes back there along with brammer...those two are deadly back there and can run it back very easily also..honestly think this will b a very high scoring game like in the past..the offensive talent on both sides of the ball are much greater than the defences and i leave it down to one big stop on defence that will end the game..
good luck to both teams im gunna say 35-41 cg!!

You can think that your 2 return men are the best in the league all you want hornet fans but ive got news for you....Boomer and ward are the dynamic duo of the league by far..having the ability to score everytime they touch the ball with boomer jukin you silly or ward just plain and simple hurdling people and then outrunning them. We will see who has the best return men friday night. I already know but everyone will just have to see it for themselves.
Kersey25
P.S. when i was a junior it was me and bloomfield returning and he was returning kicks for tds then when every other team in the conference had a bit more talent and speed. The kid is just an amazing athlete.

Re: WK 10 Coal Grove vs. Fairland OVC Championship
Not only is FHS faster than the hornets as a whole . I believe our line is bigger than Coal Groves. I am just thankful that Thacky was cleared to play for the dragons by the doctors. Tyler you are awesome IMO the best lineman in the OVC. Line play will be the key in this game because it is going to rain. Backs hold on to the ball and hit the hole hard . The dragons win by 10-14 and get a share of the OVC.
I also want to thank all the parents that feed our team this year. FYI the dragons had some mighty fine steaks and bake potatoes tonight. Now go out and play like champions tomorrow.
Jordan I bet they don't have the balls to kick to boomer if so it will be !

You can't overlook the Dragons speed, but they don't have the depth the Dragons did have alot of injuries this year. The Grove is 2 to 3 deep at most positions.I'm a Fairland alumni but a Hornet dad.I hope we have an injury free night so there can't be any of excuses when the Hornets smack around the Dragons!

I'm a CG alumni, but married to a Dragon (that doesn't sound too good, does it?) and have to step-dragon kids. This is always an interesting night for our house.

since when did i say that they were the best in the league??? i simply said haynes had speed and brammer was a deadly weapon and that they are capable of taking it back...juke and hurdle all u want but u dont need that if u got haynes speed up the hole and outside
p.s i was a junior when u were and i didnt remember them returning them back on us

fuzzhead wrote:Yeah, Fairland has a pretty good offense. But they're also giving up over 27 points/game in OVC play (Coal Grove's giving up about 13 pts/gm against the same opponents. Also, they've only allowed 20+ points 3 times this year.). Fairland also has something like 6 turnovers off of fumbles/INTs, while Coal Grove has 2. The thing Coal Grove has to be concerned about is penalties.
Both teams will put up big numbers on offense - that's a given. Mistakes and missed opportunities will be the determining factor.
As far as Rock Hill, River Valley, and the 'peke the only reason that there averaging 20-27 points is bc they put in the younger players. now as for meigs cramps and injuries were an issue but that is no excuse for given up that many points. But portsmouth west has said that the dragons were the hardest team they played and they only gave up 21 points over the course of the game, And dont even get me started on the S.p. game. but i can sit here and make excuses for the dragons all day but when it comes down to it they are the better team without a record to show it and they are gna get there just reward tonite on the gridiron.have fun tail-gating fuzz Go Big Green

Other than depth in recievers they can fill most positions with fish as a QB or our great underestimated FB after Corn, the great Tyler Duty. He might not have Corns Size but he hits just as hard and runs twice as fast. But earlier in the year they didnt have all there positions figured out just yet, but weve come a long way. Itl b a great game and we hope to see you there grove dad.

The reason Fairland has given up so many of the points most of the time is because they give up in the second half. I think they are beginning to come together as a team and play as a whole, not as eleven different players who just happen to be together on the field. I dont see the dragons giving up more than two touchdowns tonight.
Kersey are you going to be there tonight?

cg has the fastest kid in the league haynes

I believe you said that Haynes was the fastest kid in the league, am I right? So by saying that you obviously think he is the best in the league. I dont care what people say about me thinking that boomer and ward are the best in the league because I can seriously back that up. Like I said, we will just have to see tonight wont we!!!!!
Kersey25
Yes, I will most definitely be there, Ive been to every game this year and wouldnt miss this one for the world.
