silencedogood......That is almost the exact same thing I tried to explain to hawkeyepierce back in the summer. I'm glad you pointed it out and that I'm not as crazy as everyone thinks I am.

I have no problem with his loyalty to and promotion of VC athletics, and commend him for it. But he does not have an "off mode" when there are some things that are better left unsaid. Especially when he is representing VC the way he is as a statistician or scorekeeper or whatever.

However, he has proven time and again that it means so much to him to try and get that last word in, regardless of the argument or whether or not he is right or wrong.

My money is on that he has to chime in again and respond to your post and mine. It will interesting to see indeed.

Well said NYBUX!

Would you folks from VC who want to discuss your issues start another thread just for that? I feel sorry for your team! This thread is to discuss Friday night's game between VC and N-Y. Can't you come on here and boost up some players for the kinds of great plays they are capable of? Or just do like me, and say GO VIKINGS!!! I really know squat about football plays and the lingo, but I support my home team. You should to!!! Don't you know it's a common fact that when something is given positive reinforcement, it thrives??? So, give some love to that team, forget the problems (or deal with them the correct way), and enjoy the game!

Good luck to both teams this Friday, but I'm cheerin' for my Buckeyes!!! :-D

To the people of this great forum, I apologize for posting in this thread. You should not have had to read this if you were interested in the contest between Nelsoville-York and Vinton County. I should have started a new topic.

Good luck to both teams!

Derek Arnold has been named http://www.nybuckeyes.com player of the week for week 9! This is the 6th time this year he has earned this honor.

Also Buckeye fans can pick up their 2008 TVC Ohio Championship T-Shirts at the Pit Stop. They are $10 each and the money goes to the Athletic Boosters.

Keyser and silence, well said, indeed.
A certain somebody takes comments on this forum entirely out of proportion and entirely too serious. This is an anonymous forum, not real life. People yell profanities at coaches during football games and I have yet to see hawkeye walk up and say, "Now sir, this isn't his fault. Please do not be a malcontent. You are an ignorant peice of trash with an axe to grind." (Pauses to articulate, whips out thesaurus and dictionary) "So if you feel that the VC football program is in a quandary, you should take the appropriate measures to alleviate the predicament."

You give Vinton County a bad reputation by representing the community the way you do ON THIS FORUM. I commend your volunteer efforts for all the extracurriculars at VC, but again, think before you type.

Congrats to Derek and the buckeyes.

Good luck Vinton County, you will definitely need it.

This site is losing more and more credibility everyday. It is one thing to exchange ideals, to debate and "agree to disagree," unfortunately that is not the case anymore; we have been relegated to coach bashing, incoherent libel rhetoric and personal chest thumping. My days on this site have expired.

No pocket-sized thesaurus!? What kind of journalist are you?! I bet Wed Thompson Jr. carries one with him.

14-12... hmmm. That's biased to say the least. I'm an Indiana Hoosier faithful and even my game scores for football and basketball aren't that biased. But again, that's your entitled opinion, and I will not call you ignorant like you seem to do when someone's opinion differs from yours.

My prediction is:
Nelsonville-York 55
Vinton County 12

Derek Arnold goes bananas, VC scores on Nelsonville's band ala Cal/Stanford.

hawkeye...lets not talk about last years belpre game.....we would have won a share in the league had i not lost the game.....i take the responsibility of that game...i was pressured all night my line was sick...and i made bad decisions...i had 4 picks an one fumble...that game i tried to forget ...despite my four picks we had a touchdown pass to grillo called back that would have tied that game..and as time expired i fumbled on the one yard line that would have won or tied the game...

.......and as for you vc supporters...STOP!!! if you have an opinion say it to the mans face or write him a private message...all you guys are doing is embarassing the vc community...it's obviuouse noone likes hawkeye...noone has for a long time but thats not the point lets just drop it...please...we have a basketball program a great one boys and girls our track teams are coming along and when coach yates gets the right players he'll bring this place around....vc will be a regional power house in the near future in all sports......we should be a lower division but ohwell...so guys stop "voicing your opinions to the public if you want to talk smack start your own page invite your buddies and hawkeye and have a good ol fashion circle jerk....lets support our boys and our senionrs this week!......

i'll always bleed maroon and white but nelsonville takes it 42-18

primetime....you might have made some mistakes that you would take back but YOU did not lose that game or any other game. Football is the ultimate team sport. Teams win together and more importantly they lose TOGETHER. You dont need to be dragging around the blame a year later by yourself....The fact that you still carry it on yourself tells me a lot about your character and I would guess you are a fine young man. :-D

And by that post above, we learn something about the character of jiveturkey...

That's the kind of guy I would happily turn my kids over to for coaching.

Good luck to the Vikings tomorrow. I'll be unable to make it but listening to Mr. Thacker and Judge Grillo is almost as good as the real thing! :122245 Those two put Mike and Mike in the Morning to shame!

Oh, I like you hawkeye, whoever you are! ;-)

primetime_08...You forgot wrestling. Please, never forget wrestling. Your team has come a long way in the few short years it has been back in action. Remember, you had 2 go to State in wrestling the year before last. Coach Games is a great guy and has done a nice job with that program. :-D

O.K....Back to football...

GO BUCKS!!!
