Congratulations to Ironton..... As I said before, we have nothing but respect for you guys, you have a great tradition, and I for one consider it an honor to play ANY team with your history and pedigree.
The Buckeyes do NOT take a "moral" victory out of this...... Are kids were in it to win it, but we came up short. We made some mistakes, and you can't do that when you are playing a team like Ironton. They made big plays when they had to, and I take my hat off to them. We lost to a very good team, but I don't think we are a bad team ourselves.
The Ironton kids conducted themselves in a classy manner, and I for one wish them only the best of luck in the playoffs to come.
One final note........ Thank you for all the kind words you have said about Arnold #26- He is a great player, and an even better person!

Got to hang onto the ball!! fumbling into the endzone from about 1/2 yard was killer. We coulda hung half a hundred on them, even so we were up 21 when we left near the end of the game, didnt know they scored again till on the way home,I take it we were in that prevent D at that point.I thought I would be a good game and it was,NY has a good team with alot of kids playing for a D5 school.
I do have a question...is the kicker hurt?
Not having a kicker will/might hurt come playoff time.Great game both teams, hopefully injury free!
Our kicker was also our starting fullback and Captain, Zach Talbert. He was a pretty darn good kicker, fullback and noseguare. We lost Zach in week 1 to a pretty severe ankle injury................... He was suppose to be our "THUNDER" to Arnolds "Lighting", but Derick has had to carry a lot of that load himself this year.

Great game by both teams. What? Ironton doesn't pass the ball..do they? Ironton grew up a lot tonight I think. This game was a nail biter up and into the 4th Qt. That block by Geoff White was huge. They usually never get the credit for something like that.
I have a lot of respect for Nelsonville York's team. The back for NY, was it 26? (old mind working) man..that kid is not only a great runner but he's tough as well. Ironton was thumping him time and time again but he just kept coming back for more and giving more too.
All in all it was a great game and neither team couldn't have walked away from there without having a lot of respect for the other.

What an exciting game this turned out to be! Two weeks from now when both of these teams are in the playoffs, they will both be thankful for playing each other as I feel like this game showed areas each team needs to improve upon when playing a playoff caliber team. More importantly, this game shows that each team is READY to play playoff caliber teams.
Good luck to Ironton the rest of the way! I expect big things from the Fighting Tigers in the playoffs.
And to the Buckeyes.....you played a great game!!! You have shown all of southeastern Ohio that you are READY to make some NOISE in the playoffs!!!!

Way to go Tigers, what a great game.
Arnold is probably the best back that we have faced this year

The Officiating In This Game?
Nothing to say bad or anything...just..I have never seen them bring the chains out to measure for a first down when it's only about four feet from the side lines and the chain. It just really struck me as being funny but at least they were being diligent, huh?

GOOD JOB BUCKEYE’S
What a unbelievable game to have the chance to watch tonight. Both teams came out and played hard nose football and showed everyone in the State of Ohio what can happen when two teams with great tradition play can happen. I had the opportunity to watch the game with a great friend from Ironton that I consider a brother and we could not have asked for a better game. Ironton has a unbelievable team and so does the BUCXKEYE’S.
Keep your head up BUCKEYE’S you are one unbelievable team and will go far in the playoffs.
One last thing if you don’t have anything to do on a Saturday afternoon come out and watch the Nelsonville Little Bucks 3rd. and 4th grade team in the playoffs at Boston Field Saturday at 3pm we play Fed Hock.

One of the best games I've seen since the Logan/Tri-V. playoff game. Good job to all.
