Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
Ironton's a solid team,
but anybody can beat anyone on any given Friday.
I honestly think Warren can remain in it as long as Ellenwood and the O continue to gel like they did on the first drive at Chilli. Even if our defense takes some time to get adjusted, our offense can be our best defense by scoring and keeping the momentum on the Warrior side.
We have the talent. You'd be hard pressed to find a team with a better team of backs than dunfee, wellspring, coffman, and wolfe. If the O-line continues to keep pressure off of Clay, and the backs can get a block or cut to the outside, I think Warren really does have a shot.

I hate to say this...but if the offensive line keeps pressure off the qb and opens holes...and the backs block and run hard...that is what makes any offense go...if you don't have that...as with any team...you have no offense...
Having said that...where Ironton is becomming soooo strong is that they for the most part are holding their blocks...white missed one block this past week...all I saw...and our backs...all of them...are running very hard...and making good blocks...and our qb has plenty of time and is connecting on most of his passes to two very good recievers..
As long as that continues...and no fumbles and our defense plays as well as they have been...I think we could go a long long way in the playoffs...
Let's win this one Tigers...beat Warren...use this as a good practice and win one at a time...then move on to the first round of many playoff games to come....Go Tigers!!!!!!!

Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
Make no mistake, this Warren team isn't of the 10-0 variety,
but this won't be 'practice' for Ironton by any means. We aren't of the 0-10 variety, either.
The Warriors may not always have the record to show for it, but they'll be hard-hitting, physical, and ready to go on Friday night. If we win, a spot in the playoffs is still possible. We've got some motivation on our side.

Warren moved the ball OK on us at times, too. Stayed with us for about a half. Final score -- 49-3.
Frankly, I saw a Warren team that once it got down a little bit, and made a couple mistakes, just gave in. Until that mentality is overcome, it's going to be a long road.
Can they? Sure. Will they? Up to them.

Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
If Ironton takes care of business on friday, they will finish no worse than 3rd in the region. Ironton plays warren and they have 4 wins. Belmon Union Local plays a team with one win. Ironton also has a good chance of having at least 5 of the 7 teams they have beaten, win.
Lets go Fighting Tigers. Ir would be real nice to stay home in week 11.

i think the tigers win this one, if we execute and hold onto the ball. and stay at tanks memorial for week 11. they are really starting to jel. but have to hold onto the ball.

After seeing Trojans playing both teams, Tiger should win by 3 or 4 touchdowns.....not enough passing game, speed or strength to stop Ironton.

Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
This could be a trap game for Ironton. While Warren isnt a monster team it isnt a pushover either. They got a slippery back #5 I think is his number. Ironton has to be sure of the tackle or he will get away. #1 thing Ironton has to do is HOLD ONTO THE BALL! The Tigers cant let Warren get any momentum going or its going to be a close one for senior night. If Ironton plays like they are capable of they should win easily, but if the turn the ball over and dont tackle. Watch out.

Yes, it would be nice to PLAY AT HOME in week 11. Thanks for the correction. Go Fighting Tigers!
Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
ah a home playoff game.... the ghosts of playoffs past what a nice ring it has
Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
Warren has improved nicely this season. The foundation for an even better year next year has been poured.
However, Warren is not at the point where they can hang with Ironton for 4 quarters.
Ironton 35
Warren 7
Good luck and good health to both teams.

Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
According to Joe Eitel, the Warriors still have a chance . . .
Here's the deal. Warren is at a different spot than Ironton. Ironton has one of the most storied programs in the state, Warren has never made the playoffs. Not never, ever. People talk about getting back to the old time Warrior football, well football has been better in Warriorland, but it was never what it needed to be. This team has a done a bunch of heavy lifting already, but they can't be satisfied. That's an issue. It would be easy for this team to be content with what they have done. That can't happen if Warren football is going to move to the next level.
Dig in. Get mad. Have pride. Get ready for a fight.
Leave everything you have on the field this Friday and this will be a season that will be remembered for a long time.
Big. Bad. Blue.

Good luck Ironton. If you get that home play off game, I am going to try to get down there and watch. I love your stadium and my friends down there know that I always root for you, except when they play us. I know the boys are happy to play after week 10.

Re: WK 10 Ironton vs. Warren
Warren has improved, but not enough to hang with Ironton. Looks like the Tigers will roll into the playoffs with a 7-3 record.
