If Peake doesn't play with more panache & intensity than they did against arch-rival Fairland, this'n will get ugly fast in SP's favor. There are many Pointers who remember the thrashings their team received at the hands of Peake in the Chris Smith days.

Pointers by a boat load if Peake doesn't come out with all cylinders pumping.

Sounds like the cycliners have stopped working at the Peake. Maybe it's time for Davis to step aside and give someone else a shot at building the Panther Nation. They need a better weight program to play the game. You can't build muscle by walking past the weights to the shower. No weight program, no winning. Even during the past few winning seasons, but the weight room wasn't used enough. For a winning program to continue to win you have to have a great off season weight room that includes pyrometric, running, and weights. It's time for the kids at Chesapeake to step up and hit the weights. When we won we lifted before school at 6 am and worked out during the summer 5 days a week. If they want to wear the PURPLE & WHITE then they need to live in the weight room.

Look for the Panthers to be much stronger and faster next year, just too much pride in the new staff and young kids to be walloped like they were Friday night. Look for Coach Ball to have some beast next year and for the offense and defense to jel and play alot better. Good times are just ahead.

Yeah CB knows all about the weight room since I am the one that taught it to him. Plus I think he learnt a thing or two from me along the way, at least I hope so. But, to win more than the OVC or make it to the playoffs and lose you need more than a few guys in the weight room, you need everyone commited. When we won it in '75 we had 20+ guys lifting and running 5 days a week at 6am during the school year, plus another 20 or so lifting after school. We were also ranked as high as 11th in Class A, before back to back losses, then finished the season by giving CG an old fashioned butt whupping. It's time now for these guys to start living in the weight room. You can lift and play a sport, you just have to want it bad enough. Playing for the PURPLE & WHITE is more than a opportunity it is a privelege (sp). So make the most of it.

Pointers will win this one and hopefully the Dragons beat the Hornets and we all share the title nicely! SP by two touchdowns and a field goal.

I bet those weights are the same ones from '75, purpleblood. But I agree, there's not much going on in that weight room. I know the basketball guys have been in there some, though.
Good luck, peake!

Purpleblood1 if I remember right that team had two great backs and they pretty much rolled on everyone, but Coach C. wasn't much on the lifting back then at least that's what I'M told. Now coach Lambert was the weight GURU. That team had two guys benching 400 or more and you lifted or didn't play. But I agree with you if they don't start lifting and running hard it will be more of the same. But I think it is going to change. Anyway Peake will keep it close this week but I will never say we are going to lose.

peake450 i don't think your right, when I went to Chesapeake 01-05 I heard alot the Coach Ball in his day was benching way over 400 pounds. You, know I would have to agree with the weight room not been used that much. I on the other hand had to live in the wieght room been as Coach Morgan once told me "you are 5 ft nothing" (he is a ND fan). When I was in the weight room there was maybe only 5-10 people in there. This was during the time we won 3 straight OVC titles, and made playoffs 4 straight years (frist time in school history).

I think the BOE needs to knock down the building that was the vistors lockers, and our weightroom and rebuild something thats more up to date. But to do that its going to coast money.

I do believe the Panters have given up for the season, they are showing no emotions just going through the motions and walking off the field, it seems.. so as bad as i hate to say it... Pointers by what they want :122247 :122247

I agree 100%! I'm getting sick of hearing about this weightroom crap. In 05 Coal Grove finished 2nd in the state in powerlifting and finished 2-3 in the OVC. The next year, they won the State Powerlifting meet but still finished a mundane 3-2 in the OVC. Being the strongest doesn't make you the best or most talented. Chesapeake racked up all of those OVC titles and playoff appearances in the early 2000's because of talent and strategy - not strength.
