fuzzhead your off your rocker. why do all these colleges build state of the art weight rooms and training facilities along with the pros. because it is an IMPORTANT part of being successful. why do all these successful high school programs have weight training classes in school. because they know it is important

maybe if you had done a little more weightlifting you would have been more successful in cross country. weight training not only gives you added strength but requires a dedication.

as for cg why do you think they are starting to be successful again. lucas's weightlifting program he started back up 5yrs ago when he came back is starting to show. it don't just happen overnight. look what happened to the grove when the weight program sorta stopped and wasn't mandatory, losing seasons and 1and2win seasons. talent always helps too but they only get better with weight training.

Well I think it will stay kind of close in the first half. pointers always start off a little slow. second half pointers put up the point

peake- 14
pointers- 42

Wasn't referring to coach Cannon, and his whole crew Just a Fan, that was Art and Ben C. that were around then that I was talking about. PurpleBlood1 was who I was talking about, that crew was not lifting and running everyday they were just a mean bunch. And as far as the team being strong and lifting in the late 90's early 2000's I'M not so sure. There was just so much speed for about ten years that no one could handle it.

We went 10- 0 with a line whose average bench was about 185. I'm only sort of kidding there. The weight room at Chesapeake is in desperate need of razing. The equipment was sub par when I went through, I couldn't imagine what it's like almost eight years later.

I don't figure Coach to be around much longer. I am pretty sure he hits his twenty years in Ohio this year. The man is a good coach, and shouldn't be pushed out the door. The talent goes around in cycles. I am sure it will be back in the next few years.

I am from Chesapeake but I do hope Jake Seagraves does have a good game. I'm proud of the little cuz and the season he's having.

My bad peake450 i thought u was just talking about Coach Ball. And NOBODY should be trying to push Coach Davis out the door, I think the man has what like 120 + wins at the peake now, I remember when he won 100 my Sr. year. When Davis came into the program at Chesapeake it was ugly I believe we only won maybe 2 OVC titles before Davis, since Davis I know of 6 or 7 OVC titles and about 6 times to the playoffs 1 Regional Runner-Up (loss to the State Champs) , and 1 11-1 (only loss what to the State Champs). Davis has had alot of succes at Chesapeake. When Coach Davis does decide to retire coaching at Chesapeake I think they should name the press box or something after the guy. JMO

A little side note as well, before Davis came to Chesapeake he coach at Buffalo High School and was State Runner-Up for two years in a row, the year he left they won State If I remember correctly.

unfortuantely SP will run over Chesapeake tonight. Not sure that football will be much for the next few years need to do alot of mending after the last couple years. Alot of talk about lack or respect for both coaches going on and strength training is a key factor. It's sad when you see the same thing from buddy league all the way up to the HS. There are a lot of good kids playing and most have the heart and some have the talent but alot of them don't or don't get the chance to show it.

Either way it's going to be another bad night for the Peake.

Oh dear... it appears I hit a nerve with someone because they even bothered to add bits and pieces of my personal life to the post, even though it doesn't appear that they really read what I wrote.
I NEVER said weightlifting is not important. It is NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT thing, but it is important.
The weightlifting program was already showing 3-4 years ago with the results in the powerlifting meets - that didn't produce a season like the past two, did it? In 05, Coal Grove could probably out-lift Ironton, but could they beat them in a football game? What about Rock Hill that year? Or Chesapeake? South Point? Piketon?
To say that the success of the Football team depends soley upon the Weightlifting program is hilarious and very uninformed. And to say that the reason CG lost all of those games in the early 2000's just because the weightlifting program went to pot is COMICAL!

fuzz you are wrong on some of your thinking but i know you won't admit it. what gets me is you get on here and bash lucas time and time again and now you suck up to him to get interviews after the game for the paper. shows what kind of good character he has by still giving you interviews. you should feel guilty for even asking him, but your never wrong i guess

maybe you should go back on fairland threads so you can give praise to your mancrush #25kers.

You tell me what I'm wrong about and back it up with facts and I will admit it. Show me one time where I've bashed Lucas on here. I've said - ON HERE - time and time again he's a living legend and his records speak for themselves. He's a first class person and I've never said anything otherwise.
You're being irrational and it's obvious that you have an issue with me personally so why don't you just send me a PM and let me know how I've offended you in the past because you're just grasping for straws now.

I remember not long ago Peake beat SP 45-0 at SP in a mud bowl. And that was not SP's worst team ever. Yes, talent comes & goes in circles.

Has Coach Davis lost it? Of course not. He merely has a young, fairly small team this year-only 8 seniors, I believe. He can't coach size. Not even Rachel Ray can make hamburgers outta cucumbers! Hey, that team has made a coupla significant wins, especially against Oak Hill, which is a pretty good team. But I agree that Peake MUST play with intensity as they did against Oak Hill, or it's gonna get ugly fast.

Look at poor Rock Hill this year! Coach Knipp's team is going through 'growing pains' this year, after a recent run of success. But I expect them to bounce back in the future. Same with Peake. I don't think either Peake nor RH is suffering any coaching deficiencies.

More than one Peake player uses the weight room at the Chesy Community Center, which is one of the better WRs in the whole area. But a new WR at the school would be nice...

Someone said the Chesapeake won 45-0 at Sp. It was 55-0 my Sr. in 2004 South Point had Chris Smith, but left the game ealry that night due to injury. I think he left the game in the first or second quarter

Pointers win 50-14. After the Peake's first offensive series they couldn't do a thing right hardly. Pointers looked good and I think just about every senior got to run the ball. Don't know how good the Point will be next year because we lost a great senior class. On a discouraging note SP only had 26 boys dressing due to injuries and grades. Most were for grades!

I hate to even throw in my two cents after CG gets destroyed like they did, but they tied for the title as well and they return their whole backfield next year with the exception of Brammer. Fairland loses a lot of talent as well.
