We used to have the lady friends of corning/hemlock just flocking to the Ford Granada. I'll add one more thing and open a can of worms but I grew up in Shawnee and went to Miller many years ago so I guess I can say it. Isn't it about time this school district was split up? There's not enough population or commerce in southern Perry County to support a high school. We are almost to the point here that we were in the 50's and 60's with school consolidation. New Straitsville kids could go to Logan, Shawnee to New Lex and Corning and Moxie to Crooksville. There is no there there in Southern Perry County anymore. I'd be sad to see it happen but who is foolish enough to say something like this can't/won't happen? The resources of combination outway the autonomy of a rural dying school district.
