SOC 1
1. Eastern
2. ND
3. Green
4. New Boston
5. Clay
6. SV
7. East
8. Western

SOC 2
1. Valley-still stretching their legs. Yates isn't awake yet.
2. Waverly-will fade a little as season goes along. Kretzler should be unstoppable, but plays lazy. Not my words, but words from other players.
3. South Webster-should be better than they are. The 3 man weave hand off offense is too easy to defend. Defense is pretty stubborn though.
4. Minford-don't know anything except what I have read. Scrappy, still looking for identity.
5. Oak Hill-big and slow, but big. Gaines and Kisor are quality players, but lack killer instinct. Not very aggressive for their size.
6. West-strong and athletic.
7. Wheelersburg-quick and athletic. Should be better than they are. Will play to the level of competition. Sometimes not a good thing. Won't finish this low in the end.
8. Northwest-its just their turn this year.

If your going to call a player out as "plays lazy" at least spell his name right. It's not like he's not known, and doesn't have a D1 scholarship

I wouldn't say that I thought he played lazy when I saw him a couple of years ago, more of letting the game coming to him, but when I watched him against Ironton, he was on the floor after loose balls, playing very good post defense, and just working hard in general. It was a very pleasant surprise to see someone put that much effort in, where a few players of his caliber will play relaxed in HS games.

I have to agree that is a horrible post about Kretzer. He has struggled with his shot big time the last few games. The kid may have missed 3 free throws all of last year and can't buy one now. However, he is still getting 17 plus a game off of pure hustle on put backs and transition steals. The kid puts fourth max effort at all times. He has been a joy to watch over the past 4 years.

I also agree...I also feel like that is breaking an SEOP rule "personally running down or attacking a player" but hell...are there rules here anymore?

Anyways...he will be POY, IMO.

As far as rankings...I'm not going to say who is better than who...because I dont know enough about other teams other than score comparisons. I WILL say however, Valley is getting ready to steamroll and not look back!

GO Valley.

I don't know much about anything, but that never stopped me 8)

Here's a quick look at what I've got (last week's ranking in parenthesis):

MORE SOC Hoops:
Conference standings
Composite schedule
Team-by-team schedules
Rosters

1. Notre Dame (1) -- standing firmly by my “most impressive start to the season” argument
2. Eastern (2) -- I stated that Valley was my SOC II champ pick pre-season. For the record, Eastern was my SOC I pick.
3. New Boston (3) -- Tough Friday night in Beaver but they can’t dwell long with the Titans looming.
4. Symmes Valley (5) -- Still tough at home. Steal a game or two on the road from the teams above them and they’ll be in business.
5. Clay (4) -- A win over Eastern would help the Panthers to forget last week.
6. Western (7) -- Looking forward to seeing these Indians play at the Holiday Classic.
7. Green (6) -- Scrappy team. Looks like there will be quite a battle behind that top 3.
8. East (8) -- I'll have a better handle on this group after their next two contests.

1. Valley (1) -- They're just going to keep getting tougher and tougher to beat.
2. Waverly (3) -- Like Valley, the Tigers tend to get themselves into exciting contests. They’re battle tested and we’re only five games in.
3. South Webster (5) -- Hesitant to give them this jump but it sounds like they just looked that good vs. the Oaks.
4. Oak Hill (2) -- The first road conference game was unkind. Luckily the Oaks have until Jan. 10 to sort things out before their next SOC II bout away from the friendly confines.
5. Minford (4) -- The schedule has been brual but Minford keeps plotting along. Their drop is 100% about South Webster. Coach Shoe has this bunch playing well.
6. West (7) -- Friday sounded like a wild night on the West side. West will have its two longest SOC II trips out of the way after Tuesday.
7. Wheelersburg (6) -- I'm so used to them winning tight games. Very surprising to see a Barrick team 0-3 in games decided by 4 or less. They can earn serious respect with Valley and PHS heading to the Burg this week, though.
8. Northwest (8) -- The Mohawks got swept by two very good tribes from Peebles and Lucasville last week. Instead tribal feuding, they’ll try their hand at dendrology this week.

Would somebody please show me the horrible comment on KRETZERS(forgive me for using my mobile) character. It's an opinion about how he seemed to play given to me from other players. I think he is good player athletic and he should be a nightly triple double. Especially if he is going d1.

I don't know about that every team is game planing to stop he double and triple teams nightly and he still gets 20+ and 10 boards he's a man child and one of the very few D-1 players to come from our league heck our area period.

Burleson - Burg (Wright State)
Thouroughman - Clay (WVU)

These are two I remember of late...the kid from clay got minutes in for Huggins at WVU I watched him play in Indy in the final 4. He averaged about 20-25 mins a game his senior year at WVU.

OK... If you were to study some family name origins (like myself) you would know that there used to be an L in the German name Kretzer. So the original spelling up to the 1870s was Kretzler. Both should be accepted in my book. Please do some research before you start yelling at someone's spelling, when in fact, they are CORRECT.
