NO WAY IS ZIMMERMAN THE BET PITCHER, IVE PLAYED AGAINST HIM..FAIRLAND HAS THE TOP 3 OR 4 PITCHERS IN THE OVC WITHOUT A DOUBT.

i would say that burcham seagraves and sparks are all better than zimmerman

burcham and thackston are both better pitchers then zimmerman. and two of the best in the conference.

I'm pretty sure zimmerman was in the top 5 in strikeouts in the state last year. I don't think burcham, thackston, seagraves, or sparks beat that. Of course he has to do that because of the horrible defense chesapeake has.

THERE IS NO WAY SPARKS CAN HIT 90!!!......i mean dont get me wrong he is a decent pitcher........and i hope zimmerman has more strikeouts he pitched just about all there games cause i mean he is the only pitcher they have that can atleast make it to the plate with out getting it jacked off of him even tho easterling hit the school on him....ZIMMERMAN IS THE ONLY PITCHER THAT CHESSY HAS

I hear the pointers have a new freshman named Brandon Conley comin up that just transfered in from Oklahoma. The guy is a monster, he is about 6'3, throws up around the high 80's or low 90's and can just absolutely destroy the ball while he is batting, he hit about 5 in a row across the street into the 7-up plant at South Points field. I am looking forward to seein this kid play this year.

Sparks can throw heat!!!!!!!!!!! but the thing with him is he is accurate and reliable!!! and has alot that he can change it up with!!!! Him and Burcham can go toe to toe!!!!!! It's a good game to watch them go against each other!!! Sparks is a good athlete all the way around and one of the better pitchers in the ovc!!!!!

i guarentee u that he can break 90 if he wanted to..im not saying he throws thats repeatedly..i am saying if he slung it to be clocked at his highest he would break 90..i kno he can cause i pitched for cg last year and my highest was 85 and wayne is a good 5 or 6 mph faster than me..i kno speed can be a factor sumtimes but the main thing is control and the ability to change it up...and he def. wouldnt fall under a "decent pitcher" buddy..and why do they never hardly throw zimmerman against coal grove?

Groveyard you are delusional if you think Sparks can throw 90. I think he would have a hard time hitting 85, but I also believe speed is overrated. FHS is loaded with pitching and hitters. Who would have ever thought that among this talented group of kids that Ethan Long's name is not even being mentioned? Him and Easterling were throwing in the low 80's when they were 14.

There is no way that Sparks is throwing 85-90. I hit against him last year and ive hit against people that throw that speed that i couldnt hit against. yea he throws it hard but theres no way its from 85 to 90.

How can you people talk about the five best pitchers in the OVC and not mention jake seagraves... and the dragons do have some good pitching in thackston, easterling, burcham, and long... but i think their attitude and confidence will cause them to lose a couple games this year... and coal grove? i dont think they have had a pitcher that can throw 85 EVER..! i mean sparks is decent but i think he is way overrated... and who is the guy that hit 85 last year for coal grove... because he sure didn't pitch against south point...

Anybody knows that if Winkler from South Point can hit a homerun off of sparks anybody can because he had one of the lowest batting averages on the squad..that juss proves to you that sparks cant throw that hard..Howy from Ironton has him beat and Howy can hit somewhere close to 85-90!!!

im pretty sure when wayno came in against south point last year he got rocked but im sure that happened to him a lot...

Sparks never got rocked by SP!!! and no it hasnt happened alot!!!!! Everyone has a bad game (even the pros) so I'm sure he's had a bad game!! But he's never gotten rocked by SP!!! Just face the facts that Sparks is a good pitcher!!! End of story!

I say by the middle of May this arguement will be settled. Play the games and quit arguing!

well, Weed is the only one who hit a HR against CG at the Varsity level last season, against Bridges. In 8 innings v SP Sparks gave up 6 hits, 0 ER, and had 8 k's, 1 win.
Bridges already blew the first game when Sparks came in to stop the bleeding. That's just the stats.

I might be mistaken but I think Sparks and Burcham split against each other last spring during the regular season. Then in the tournament both pitched great. Neither team scoring until the 6th and then Fairland pulling it out with 2 unearned runs in the 7th due to back to back errrors at 1st base, giving Farland and Burcham the win.

Each team in the conference has at least one good pitcher, Fairland has a few, but it is HS baseball, and there is 3 games per week, just have to see how it pans out.

i was clocked at 85 my sophomore year from cg throwing it as hard as i can! thats not my average speed all the time..i threw mid to high 70's during a game but of course slowed down at the end..i sat out my junior year do to an injury and slowed me down a good bit..i still got clocked at 83 at my hardest my senior year and wayne threw way harder than me!! how can u say he cant throw 85-90 i usually dont see all the fans at the games carrying radar guns with them unless u all hide them on ur lawn chairs!!
