good game boys, close, but no cigar.
I think it would be a good idea for East to schedual Newark Catholic, even if they are outmatched, it would be a good way to prepare them for postseason play.

I think they can find all the competition they want in their own back yard. Why don't they schedule some of those teams? Is there some type of political crap preventing them scheduling some SOC II schools, besides NW?

Great post. I agree with the non-league schedule.
I would love to see you guys and Newark Catholic hook up in the regular season.

I have heard that one of the non-league teams is off the schedule for Newark Catholic and another will be the following year.

These two really need to get together and sign a four-year deal. Two home and two away.

Thanks newarkcatholicfan... I would love for us to schedule some teams up your way! Even if it was just 2 teams! It would better prepare us for the playoffs... because anytime we make the playoffs it's usually going to be against a school from the north of the river! I have some connections with the football program and I will definetly be pushing for this! Check out that schedule for Newark Catholic and find out for sure... if you can find out the dates to! Mostly likely we would be available in the first 4 games cause, our conference starts after that.

The games I would love to see East get out of if possible would be Matewan, Manchester, and South Gallia. If possible that would open up weeks 3,5,and 8. I would love to see us pick up Ashland Fairview in week 3 for Matewan next year or the year after.

If you are talking Kentucky teams why not go for
1-Pikeville- Single A(SMALLEST IN Kentucky)
2-Pike County Central-3A Portsmouth West beat them the two times they played them not lobg ago.
3-Belfry-3A ironton has beaten them a lot over the years.

Or Greenup Co. 10 miles away. Burg beat them and it's much closer.

Would that be upgrading the schedule? G-UP County isn't very good at all.

I didn't get an answer as to why East doesn't play Minford, West, Wheelersburg or Valley. Either one of these teams would be a very competitive game and you wouldn't have to travel 3 hrs to get there.

Fairview is a team that has improved in recent years, I think them and East would be a good matchup

Why would East get rid of SG? In the 4 year series the teams have split 2-2. Its usually a good game.

The last time East played Minford was in 97 I believe, and at that time I believe Minford didn't want to reschedule with them...which I do not blame them. I do not remember the last time East played West or Burg....but I believe East could now compete with Valley which was shown the last two times they played each other.

I think East should look into rescheduling Harvest Prep from Cbus. I know we played for atleast 5 or 6 years. That would be a good matchup.

the teams that I would like to see East try to schedule would be....Paint Valley, Fairview, Minford/Valley(one would say no just hard to tell which one), Harvest Prep wouldn't be bad to try to get again, also would also like to see us try to get one or two good D6 teams to help get ready for the playoffs like Bishop Roscrans, Newark Cath., Trimble, and Fisher Cath.(who is normally a playoff team or a spot away)

If we could replace some of our non-conference teams with a couple of the schools on my list it would prepare East for the playoffs even better.

Played West in 91-92, I do know there were some hard feelings with Minford over players transfers and other issues. But different people in charge now.

But we could not hang consistently with Burg but I do think we could play with Valley on a regular basis. We used to play
ND-LOADED
GREEN-LOADED
WEST-LOADED
VALLEY-VERY GOOD
PIKETON-GOOD
MINFORD-GOOD
NORTHWEST-DECENT
HR-DECENT
COLUMBUS WEHRLE-AWESOME
PVALLEY-AWESOME

That was a nasty sched for us, and we did alright. I know time shave changed but thos etemas wer good, and we hung, East needs to get back in local battles with bigger schools at least play Valley or Minford and possible Rock hill or someone!

I gotta say how classy it is in the way the EAST fans have taken it when some predicted that they were not going to win. Instead of getting all bent out of shape like LOGAN POSTERS do you all have started proposing ways that might improve your team.

Very cool!!!

I think Piketon could even be possible team that could be picked up, they have been a decent team the last couple of years and I could see them being a strong team next season.
If East could add one or two...or even possibly three of those teams with the conference schedule we have to play, I believe would set them up nicely on being prepared for the playoffs...I honestly believe next year will be the year they bring home a win if not more in the playoffs with what all is coming back from this years team, and the coaching staff having a year under their belt and knowing the talent even better.
