This isn't West Virginia.

I disagree.

We've had 5-5 teams win state titles in Ohio (I'm pretty sure). To get in the playoffs in Ohio at 5-5 usually says as much about your schedule as it does your team.

A team like Cinc. St. Xavier was one win from getting in this year, and they have a football team who could beat probably half or more of the D1 playoff qualifiers.

Even at 4-6 I'd say most teams in Ohio don't want to play the Bombers.

Here are the 6-4 and 5-5 teams that have made it to the state championship since 2000.

In 2005, Columbus St. Francis DeSales made it in with a 6-4 record and finished as the Division III State Runner-up.

In 2003, Cleveland VASJ made it in with a 6-4 record and finished as the Division IV State Runner-up.

In 2002, Bishop Watterson finished 6-4 and won the Division III State Championship.

In 2001, Columbus St. Francis DeSales made it in with a 5-5 record and finished as the Division III State Runner-up. St. Ignatius was 6-4 and won Division I state title.

In 2000, Van Wert made it in with a 6-4 record and finished as the Division III State Runner-up when their all-state kicker missed an extra point in double overtime.
