I watched the Walton girl a couple times this season when she played against my daughter, and then some on the TV cable. She didnt have a very good attitude on the floor in my opinion- she showed no emotion AT ALL and she didnt make any effort to try and get the rest of her team (mostly younger player) up. I can understand why the honor went to the other three seniors-- TRUE leaders

MHS7882: do u always have to be smiling on the floor, if i was a girl on the other team playing agianst walton i would be a little intimidated, from the looks of it thats her game face, in my opinion she looks focused and determined.....but thats just me
and a true leader steps up to the challenge and makes things happen, i have seen walton do that many times, not taking anything away from the other girls but i think you have your "TRUE LEADERS" a lil confused there.....watch more tv and u will see wats up

mainetime: i think who overlooked walton was her own coach...dont say her stats werent the best cuz at times she carried the team, idk the team well enough to be pointing out the best players with least mistakes, but from seeing the games from the stands and tv u can definately tell she has sumting the other players dont, she seems to stay calm under the pressure and not make mistakes!
u sound like u r close to the staff by the way

No, not close to the Trimble coaching staff.
Heres a hint: I WAS at the meeting that chose these awards, so if Im not a Trimble affiliate, that must mean I was at the meeting because I am a.................................. (you do the math)

And since I was at this meeting, I can say that Walton WAS put up by her coach.
So she obviously wasn't overlooked by her own coach, but by others.

(you sound like your close to Walton's family, by the way)

heres some math for you! :12222

as a former graduate of the area, not trimble, i will obviously keep up on the ATHELETS of my rivalry schools, trimble being one of them

i say we quit singling out the girls and drop it, me included, cuz its seeming to go to whos the best and can cheer the most, maybe they should give and award to all players

maintime; yes I have meet the family during a lot of various sports. Having lived in the area my whole life ,I've come to know several familys from different towns.I just could not understand the process. I have to agree with the paralyzer, this post is going in the wrong direction. At no time did I say someone should be replaced or suggested they were undeserving. As I said in my last post they are great kids. All I wanted was a litttle info on how the selections were done. If you were at the selction then ok, it just seemed you had a little inside info. Thanks for your honesty.

mhs: nice slam , you feel better, you know what they say about opinions, I 'll say just one thing. Still waters run deep. Just because some players are not cheerleading it doesn't mean they want to win any less.

Good luck to all the players and congrads to those who were selected. Now some one toss out the basketballs.

It would be great if all the deserving players recieved these awards ! There are several very deserving players that dont get this award. Let us remember that this is a team sport and the awards that really matter have the TEAMS name on them instead of individuals. congrats to all who received the honor and to those that had great seasons.

mainetime wrote:No Im not saying Walton didn't deserve to be on there. She was a great part of Trimble's team. Im just saying that not every one can be on the list, and the coaches (from all schools, not just Trimble's coaches) voted for who they thought should be on the list.

And I don't think basing it only off stats is right. You have to look at team leadership, attitude, and lots of other aspects. And I gurantee that the player you are saying didn't get much playing time was a Team leader with a very positive attitude, no matter what the situation of the game was. So yes facts are facts, and the coaches voted for who they thought should be on the All-District team.

If you are not a member of the Trimble volleyball staff, you are def. close to them, or else you wouldn't know about what player I was talking about.

MHS7882-since you say you have a daughter around Walton's age, how would you feel if someone on here bashed her the way you just did?? Grow up, no one on this thread has bashed any KID-they have all said that they weren't taking anything away from the other players-just a little peeved at the process, and the political bs that surrounds what players get put up. There was no need for a post like that.

well i believe south gallia has a first in the district all star game. tasha adkins has played with 3 different coaches in her 4 years of playing varsity. i believe that she will do her best at this game. good luck to the lady rebel and to everyone who is playing in the district game.
