Round 2 Ironton vs. New Lexington at JACKSON

Ironton = Most undisciplined team I have seen in a LONG time. NL dominated this game from opening kickoff. I believe alot of people on here were saying NL was overated. Who's overated now? Also alot of comments about Ironton hitting hard and playing Physical. Where was that????? Ironton Q.B. must have had -100 yds. rushing. That vaunted rushing attack had a grand total of 43 yds. on 27 carries.

It is a good thing Coach Lutz made a major halftime adjustment just like he always does... This game would have been 58-6 if he didn't...

We need to cool it a little, it is hard to lose a game like that, and play as badly as they did. NL has some things to work on too, and we should consider ourselves fortunate to be playing Ferry next week. but the Ironton players had some trouble near the end of the game, which they won't be happy about later on.

NLPanther LOL! Only adjustment I saw was NL played ball control football. Not sure they passed more than twice the whole second half. Maybe that is the adjustments they have been seeing from their coach. The other team just running out the clock so they think their team is playing great defense. Did anyone else think Ironton looked slow?

No excuses here. A few opinions. NL dominated the line. Obviously not one of the better games we've played. Cannon is tough, but not a one man team. Good luck next week versus Martins Ferry, I believe you guys will win the region. Once things started going bad, it seemed to snowball on the Tigers. Unforced errors killed us tonight. 2nd half adjustments were great, but the hole was already too deep to come out of.

Once again, congrats to NL. I hope you guys do well the rest of the way.

Brutus, I am glad someone knows where i was coming from with that. All i read all week was "NL is overrated, Lutz makes amazing halftime adjustments, we are going to run it right at you and we dare you to try and stop us." It gets very frustrating not getting any respect and it is a great feeling to finally show the SEOAL that the MVL isn't the cupcake league they thought!

You guys must have watched a different game than I did. New Lex didnt beat Ironton Ironton beat Ironton. Our recievers dropped at least 4 TD passes, we got more penalty yards than you had offense which helped lead to our donfall. Pretty much the way we played we could have been the only ones on the field tonight and we would have gotten beat. Thats ok though you guys believe you got a good team and next week Ferry will demolish you 50 to 0 thats cool.
As for Ironton you couldnt play much more piss poor than we did tonight. We looked like we had never played the game before. They way we played we didnt even deserve to be in the playoffs that was an embarrassment. Im sorry the seniors went out like that, but these juniors need to watch this tape a few times and decide if they want toplay ball or just screw around like what happened in this game. Seriously Coach Lutz should have benched that entire starting line up and played the 2s and 3s the entire 2nd half maybe they would have at least gave somewhat of an effort.

Typical tigercannon post... can't admit that a team is better than you. You did that about all three of your losses just realize that ironton got beat up on and yeah they had some mistakes but NL made ironton look silly. By the way keep doubting us because you did it all week and we came to play. So keep doubting and adding fuel to the fire.

Keep thinking that man... cuz last time i checked none of those three losses were by 32 pts. You can say we aren't better than ironton all you want but we are moving on to the regional finals and that is what matters.

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen anyone try to justify a 32 point loss by saying they gave the game away?? Seriously, no credit for New Lex at all???? When I was watching the updates seemed like a hell of a lot TFL's by Nex Lex's defense. If Ironton was throwing the ball enough to drop 4 TD passes, then something was really wrong in that game. Ironton doesn't typically win the game in the air. I root for the Fighting Tigers as long as they aren't playing West and have a lot of friends from Ironton. They would never not give credit where credit was deserved.

West if you saw the game and not just the updates on the computer you would agree with me. Anyone that actually saw the game knows what the true story was. Reading the updates on the computer doesnt tell what actually happened.

NLpanther, you guys should send us a big fruit basket or at least a thank you card for letting you guys advance to the 3rd round. Of course after Ferry pounds you into the ground you might not be thanking us after all.

I haven't said it before but congrats to the players on a season in which you guys were able to make the playoffs.. as for tigercannon... i can't believe someone can be that blind. I was at the game and i do know what happened. Ironton had the ball inside the 20 twice and only scored on one. What happened to we are going to run it right at you? Enjoy the offseason. It is a shame the Ironton program has to be affiliated with someone who can't be a gracious loser.

It was 28-3 at half, and we lost like 38-10. No matter how you slice it we got beat last year, and you got beat last night. It doesn't taste good going down, but don't write silly stuff like this about it.

Ironton played a bad game, everyone knows that. But NL had something to do with that, and to deny it is crazy. NL did not play a perfect game, but they played a fine game, and in the first half shredded a find Ironton defense.

Ironton had four decent offensive plays in the game, period. You had a 25 yard run early, a long pass, a big kickoff return, and a long run. You got one TD out of it, and some stat guys had you with less that 100 yards total offense. I don't know how many yards you had, but it wasn't many, your QB was running for his life all night long, you gave up two safeties, and a ton of negative plays. it's not all your fault.

Ferry may torch NL next week, but I doubt it. We won't live in denial if it happens.

Honest opinion....New Lex is better than the Burg. Probably the same caliber as Chilli and Logan would probably beat them. That being said, New Lex in my opinion will beat Martins Ferry next week. Ironton's unforced errors caused the score, not the outcome of the game. A "W" is a "W" and New Lex earned that tonight. I hope you guys go on to win next week and the week after.

Delusional Im think Im the only rational one on this thread right now. I dont like it, but I cant take it when we get beat by a better team. Foronstance a few years ago Desales beat us 40-0. Worse beating I ever saw Ironton take. Desales beat us cause they were that much better. Logan last year beat us cause the were better. New Lex beat us cause we beat ourselves.

I think you are about right there. Logan is an awesome team, holding a squad like Louisville to 1 TD. They are a great team, and I would love to Sheridan play them sometime, not just scrimmage them. NL and Logan had some real slobberknockers in the past. The MVL and SEOAL have had some competitive games recently...

I agree with you on one thing, Ironton imploded. but the rest, we will just have to agree to disagree at this point. I'd love to get my hands on a game tape and drink some coffee with you as we looked at it together. I think you would change your mind.
