Im not really a fan of either, but I know that Marietta would destroy Trimble in football. Trimble's secondary would get picked apart in a hurry.

Of course we wont know, cause Marietta as pointed out is in basketball season right now. They need to win some more games to be still playing this late in the season. But maybe if they did play some D6 schools like Trimble they would have more success in football. I would think so, since they are D2? :122245

Wizard, Koondogger just e mailed me and swears that if Trimble wins this week he will most definately stop lying. But if they lose, all bets are off. I could sense a grin on his face  while he was writing that message though.

how can you say this? Trimble's secondary is the most experienced part of there defense, and the front four wouldn't even give a team enough time to pick our defense apart.

Among other stations, this game can be heard on Power 105 (WXTQ-FM) out of Athens.

Caleb Troop and Brian Boesch will have the call. Countdown to Kickoff Pre-Game show begins at 7:10.

You can listen to the game live online by inserting the following link into your browser: mms:/132.235.236.177/WXTQ

E-mail the broadcast booth your thoughts at [email protected].

Good luck and good health to both teams.

Any preferred places to get a good pre-broadcast meal out on the town?! Let's hear 'em!

YOU CAN BE ASSURED THAT DON DRUMM STADIUM WILL HAVE IT'S SHARE OF MARIETTA FAITHFUL AT THE GAME FRIDAY TO SEE HOW WELL THESE TWO D 6 SCHOOLS PLAY. I WILL AGREE THAT MARIETTA'S RECORD ON PAPER DOES NOT FAIR AS WELL BUT ANY INTELLIGENT FOOTBALL FOLLOWER WOULD HAVE TO CONCEDE THAT THEIR SCHEDULE HAS BEEN A FAIRLY DIFFICULT ONE. CHECK THE STATS ON THE SEOP POST TO SEE WHERE MARIETTA PLAYERS RANK.

GIVES US A COUPLE OF YEARS AND COACH SCHOB AND HIS ASSISTANTS WILL GET THE TIGERS TO THE PLAYOFFS.

BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER -- GO TIGERS !

That's the best way to get kids in the Marietta school district interested in football. Have some playoff games there if MHS isn't in it. I think the city at least owes it to the merchants/restaurants.

As for the game, I hope the weather permits both teams to utilize their speed if they have any. Be nice to see who does best on turf.

I remember River playing at Don Drumm two years ago vs. Furnace Green.

I would think the PVC and TVC fans will be there to support their leagues.

Anyone having tailgates at the stadium parking lots?

that was one of the hardest hitting games i have ever played in river is for real the first play of the game one of our players laid a hit on rivers qb and broke his collar bone then a freshman qb came in he was really impressive one of the best qbs we played all year which i believe he is there current qb

I'll tell ya'll what.......if Trimble's O-line plays like they practiced today Friday night....they will drown in the river.....I believe D.J. Duke might be a little better than Tommy Hardy and Jay Richards....this being said I still like the Tomcats in this showdown!

Glouster Trimble - 20

Hannibal River - 8

Although River has played some darn good teams and pretty much shut them out, I dont believe they have seen a team like the Glouster Trimble Tomcats. The boys on that team are just flat out talented. The only guys who aren't athletes on the whole team is #60 Jeremiah Borgen, #76 Matthew Azbell, and #71 Andrew Mclaughlin. I just dont think that River has the athletes, the speed, or even the power to beat the cats. CATS ROLL INTO WEEK 13!!
