Along with the other eateries...I'll recommend Cardo's Pizza. It's a block north of the old field and will hold a great deal of people. Our Ponderosa for whatever reason is said to be the "best Ponderosa anywhere"....not too mention it'll hold over 400 people as it used to be a 12 lane bowling alley.

For ice cream or a traditional Jackson County Bubble go to Michaels Ice Cream across from the court house and the Overtime Sports Bar could satisfy some as well.

Our Dairy Queen is one of the best....and a Chinese Buffet right past the building of the new McDonalds

The Burg/Minford thread was already closed because of all the negative comments about #13 and people posting YouTube videos of the play, so let's just talk about the game this coming Saturday and if you want to talk about that particular play then start your own thread about it so this one doesn't get deleted.

I second that motion. I think a couple of people on here are going to be very surprised at the level of play the Lions are on. Don't think b/c a team doesn't get into the playoffs very often, they aren't a darn good football team. I'm telling you, the Lions are for real.

You have to realize that the majority of the fans on here predicting a blowout by the Burg are NOT TRUE BURG FANS. Every real Burg fan knows that this game will be just as tough, if not tougher than last weeks. You don't make it to round two if you are not a good team. Makes no difference that LU hasn't been in the playoffs since 1999. I remember a Centerburg team that came into Pirate Stadium in 2005 and left out of there with a 17-10 victory. They hadn't been to the playoffs that much either. Burg can also not get caught in looking ahead to a possible rematch with SOC foe West. If they do, Saturday could be the end of the road for them.

only if you knew why they gave up after the first half. A few seniors were burnout on football and didnt want to play. They had to have the worst attitude of any class i can remember. trust me on this, i was there. it was disapointing at school the next week that those good players felt that way.

I heard that same thing straight from two seniors who were on that team. They said they had had enough of Coach Lewis and tanked the game on purpose which was a shame since that team was loaded with talent and may have made a run for the title. .

I take the burg.... hell ny almost beat LU if it wasnt for a couple mistakes. NY would have had that game but i am not bashing Lu they are agood team but i have to go with the burg 35 LU 21

Wow. If Burg's passing game isnt better than against Minford, it wont be a close game. Hopefully Burg can work on it this week and be able to throw the ball better.

IMO, if Burg would have kept throwing the ball against Minford, the score would have been worse. I'm not talking about the long bombs, because I still don't think Schank has the arm strength to throw the ball that far, with accuarcy, but the little dump passes to the RB's out of the backfield was working just fine. After Burg got the lead, just like in the first game and like in some other games this year, they just went away from the pass altogether. If it isn't broke, why fix it.

They have the receivers and they have two that sometimes have close to 6-8 inches on the DB's, but still yet they aren't utilized. Another receiver that is hardly used and Minford used there's to perfection the other night, is the tight end. Burg has one that has pretty good hands and has some size and can go up and get a ball, just like he did the other night. If they don't throw, teams are just going to stuff 9 guys in the box and then they'll have to throw.

Just be glad the FG attempt was shanked or you would have had to go back to the terrible passing game and lost.

Are you serious???? Were you even at the game, because if memory serves me correctly, wasn't Burg's first play from scrimmage a pass to Scotty Walker out of the backfield that picked up about 10-12 yards? That pass play was there all night and like I said, no the long passes were not there, but the little short passes were there all night long. They had mis-matches all night long and for some reason or another Burg didn't exploit them. IMO, I think Burg should have thrown more to Stegman. He has great hands and can go up and get anything thrown his way.

Good players don't feel that way nor do they give up, that group of seniors had great talent, a lot of jeolousy between players and parents, believe me, we heard it all season long. That is in the past, and this team is far from the attitudes from players and parents in 2005.

Yes... Thank you I feel much better now knowing you finally said it.

Get real. Minford had 200 total yards to W'Burg's 380. W'Burg can pass but not the routes they are choosing to run. Minford could not stop the rushing attack so why take chances passing the football. W'Burg can pass the football if they keep it to managable distance.

Oh and this thread has nothing to do with Minford so why don't we quit talking about that game.
