Hate to complain but the refs. didn't help. Two touchdowns were scored by the Cavaliers that the officials called back. But you will have that. Cavaliers we are proud of you and love each and everyone of you. Thank you players and coaches for the great season.

Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
Warpath now through Chillicothe and onto the regional championship game against Eastmoor. What a season for the Braves! They were the better team tonight. Defense stepped up and made big plays all night long.
Knights is a fantastic athlete for Chilli. The young man played a great game.

Army, what was that trash talk about LE being scared to play Chilli before the season?
Don't think so.

Glad to see this. SEOAL is done. Chilli thought they had this game in the bag. Congrats to Coach Bart.
Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
Chillicothe has some nice skill weapons, but the battle was won in the trenches by Logan Elm. Congrats to the Cavs on a good season. Being one of 16 left in D3 is nothing to be ashamed of.

Not being particularly partial to either team, but being someone who just wanted to see some good football. I can say the refs didn't he;p either team. there were bad calls all night long against both teams, and several times when calls should have been made that weren't.
It was a good game LE just knew what had to be done. or should I say Bart knew what had to be done. Chilli was using 90% of the plays that Bart got westfall using before he left. he knew how to counter it by putting pressure on Knights.

it was getting ugly out there, i thought several times a fight would occur but didnt
Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
wow i wish Chilli had coach Bart. He's a great coach. Chilli's poor execution in crucial situations cost them.
Kick coverage was poor.
Tackling was poor.
Penalty yardage galore!
Turnovers in the red zone.
TD's called back for penalties.
continually trying to pound the ball up the gut when getting stuffed for a whole half.
Discipline and strategy won out on LE's side. they deserve to move on and i hope they represent well in week 13.

Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
First off congrats to LE. They played a great game and deserve the opportunity to play in week 13. Now I need to vent a little.
OFFICIATING:
IMO however, Chillicothe deserved that opportunity as well and was robbed of it by the officiating( namely the refferee on the LE sideline who might as well have had a sign that reads "How may I help you coach Bart". I counted around 7 "bogus" calls that went against Chilli and 6 came from the same ref. I know LE had some go against them to but it was very lopsided. An illegal chop block on the center???
a clip on #23 Jordan Benson when the defender undercut him and dipped his shoulder(effectively turning his back towards him)???
A number of holding calls from the side judge(that should be called by the back judge)???
A pass interference call when the WR tripped and fell AND THEN the DB tripped over him???
I believe ALL were made by the same official on the LE sideline. Talk about being in the coaches pocket.
LE should be proud but IMO the game should've been in OT.
I cannot understate how bad it was IMO. I met with a relative of mine, whose son plays for LE, after the game and HE said "wow, you guys got screwed".
COACHING:
LE:
I thought that the LE players themselves were very classy but IMO the coaching staff was not. I know some of you have already said the opposite and I'll probably get slammed for this but when you are up by 21 you don't go for a suprise onside kick and a fake punt(the high snap was to the up-back... that means it was a fake had they not messed up) When a kid talks to much or fights or just plain is unsportsmanlike I will give him the benifit of the doubt because he is a child but as the "responsible" one a coach should be better than that.
Chilli:
Game plan on Offense was terrible. plain and simple. Whoever the wide receivers coach is has a lot of improvements to make. The receivers don't get open(and they're ALL athletic), don't run crisp routes, don't get the jump ball(2 receivers are over 6-2 or 6-3), and don't catch. IMO Chilli really, really, miss Carl Justice and Ken Valentine about now. Two Quality coaches who were on the staff last year. IMO the weakness at receiver forced them into running the ball a lot more than anyone wanted to all season long.
GAMEPLAY:
LE played a great game start to finish and they were the BETTER TEAM. Chilli came out flat(don't know how that's possible) and IMO underestimated an UNDEFEATED TEAM(don't know how thats possible either). The receivers NEED to catch wide open balls. Knights put three deep balls in perfect position to have a 50+ yard TD and two were dropped and the other one the receiver fell over his own feet.
SITE:
Adequate at best but not as terrible as people made it out to be. There was not a lot of seating but it was enough. My only complaint is that they did run out of hot-dogs, popcorn and other stuff before the end of HALFTIME.
Didn't bother me cuz I don't eat at games but I heard a few fans complain about it .
Good luck in the next round to LE KIDS. Hopefully your coach doesn't try to run the score up with onside kicks and you don't have Karma come back around to bite the kids for their coaches mistakes.

Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. What a stinking whiner. You sound as bad as your coach did on the radio. If he could coach, they would not have to have relied on 2 "bogus" calls. Give me a stinking break. Chillicothe got outplayed and outcoached, simple as that. Still cannot get over how Davidson continues to cry and complain every chance he gets about every loss he stockpiles. Maybe if he spent more time studying how to get your playmakers the ball in space, rather than ways to deflect blame for his teams ineptitude, Chillicothe would be moving on. Keep crying. You guys got handled, physically and mentally, by a better team and coaching staff.
Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
I don't think Chillicothe played well enuff to win that night. I sure hope that's not the best the OHSAA has to offer. Pretty sad...........................
Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
gymratt,
have you ever played or coached a game of football? As a coach, you have an obligation to put your players in the best possible situation to win the game or make a call that allows your players to experience success. If that is what coach Bart felt was best for his players at the time and he chose to call for those attempts, then CONGRATS to Coach Bart. If the game should have went in overtime like everyone says, HOW would that have been trying to run up the score? Maybe Bart was trying to keep momentum and take a shot at the jugular early. I have played for coaches that are afraid to put players in the best situation to be successful, in other words, lets try to keep the game as close as we can for as long as we can. THAT IS NO FUN FOR THE PLAYER!!! Put me in a position or call a play that might be risky, but if ran correctly, WE CAN WIN!!!
Good Luck Logan Elm
Congrats on a fine season Coach Davidson & Chillicothe

Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
Saturdays game was a micronism of the whole season .When you play a team that is disciplined and well coached ,you better play your best. We had no receivers step up all year and be consistant ,sure a few had some good games . We always know going in that we are EZ to scout. If we don't totally have more talent or benefit from turnovers ,we stand a good chance of losing to well coached team. Special teams are a big part of football and ours got us in trouble alot . We won eight games,I thought we would win 9 . This is about all we can expect w/the current coaching situation .
Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
The game was still in doubt when Bart ran those two trick plays. 21-0 lead against a team like Chilli is not safe and Bart knew it. To call that classless shows a complete lack of understanding football. If anything, LE gambling a bit too much helped Chilli back into the game with two short fields.
Logan Elm was clearly the better team.
And if you want to talk about bad calls, the pass interference called on Steed was bogus. One of the best pass breakups I've seen. Brown also broke the goal line on the fourth and goal with LE up 28-7. There were bad calls both ways but they were about even.

Re: Round 2 Chillicothe vs. Logan Elm at Teays Valley
Let us not forget the # times the refs did not call a delay of game against chilli. wait 2 times. the one time for some reason they let the play go on then after chilli got the first down moved the back. made no since to me.
Wing-T your comment was really totally uncalled for. remind us all again how many game you team has won in the last few years?
