Sure Logan has nice facilities, but so do others in the southern part of the state. "0" respect for us. Just like the old trick they tried in 02' with the switcharoos of the regions that were playing. They always want an all north final. Coach Tressell said he would like to see the Championships back in the shoe. They have turf now. Why doesn't this happen now? The Massillon area is a dump. No matter what happens this year I say that everyone gets together and raises a stink to get the State Titles moved to Columbus. A list of Stadiums for High School Playoffs from this area should be pushed up that way also. Jackson is a good one. Valley could host, I wouldn't even mind driving to Chillicothe. How about venues like the Tank? Rock Hill. The list goes on. South point is awesome. Sorry for rambling on a post, but we say it yeaer after year, we know it is coming, and it does..... Where do we start?

Sorry to see you won't be makin the drive :122249

It all comes down to $$$ that is what OHSAA is ALL about and it always will be. Whoever is padding their pockets the most on the side will get all the breaks. I can guarantee you one thing is FOR SURE if West or Burg wins region 19 they will be playing Youngstown Ursiline. They don't believe that there is any football South of Columbus and frankly don't care about us "hicks." You would think that with the director of OHSAA from around here we would get some breaks. Oh well West will go to the moon and play if thats what it takes to get the W, so good luck boys and "screw the suits!"

Preview of the Ready vs. Johnstown game. That has some good info on Ready.

http://www.thisweeknews.com/live/content/fridaynightlive/stories/postseason/previews/week11/ready_johnstown.html?sid=104

"The Silver Knights began the season in a wing-T, but have gradually started to run their offense from the I-formation.

They are led by senior tailback Collin Leidinger, who had a career-high 218 yards on 30 carries and four touchdowns last Friday in a 52-6 win over Hartley. Leidinger has totaled 726 yards on 128 carries and 14 touchdowns.

Sophomore running back Demetrius Clark has added 306 yards on 43 carries with six scores.

Junior quarterback Brennan McCarty is 74-for-133 passing for 975 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. His top target has been senior Steve Christman, who has 19 catches for 280 yards and three scores."

That's been my point exactly (check the earlier posts!) that we want to show off our great facilities and host two outstanding teams who have made it to the second round. All we want is to be good hosts and make things enjoyable for both teams and their fans... we can't do much about the milage for anyone to get here.

As I said, this is a historic occasion for Logan to host a neutral-site game, something we just couldn't do at Bill Sauer Field.

i'm not sure west will beat ready

Mad_Dogg...are you one of those guys whos cup is half empty instead of half full? Of course no one is sure of the outcome of this game, but why ruin hope for someone with a negative comment? Did you say the same thing on the Wheelersburg thread? My guess would be no you didn't. Is it because this is the West thread? I would hope that isn't the reason, because I wouldn't want someone from West posting negative to the kids from your school. I wish good luck to the West team and yes, I also wish good luck to the Burg kids. Hope both teams come out with the win and injury free. See how easy that was Madd. ;-)

The only thing we can do is keep winning. West can beat Ready, it will be a tall task but we can. Win that one, and the competition is probably a little easier for a regional title. Coming into the year, I would have took 11-0 and playing on the moon week 12, so a drive to Logan isn't so bad. It looks like a real nice field and I too like going to fields I've never been to.

One other factor no ones mentioned besides the already north bias is JJ Huddle. He is a Ready alumn and he and the OHSAA are like peas and carrots. Besides that they want them to advance to play Ursuline to set up their big money games. Come on West play the spoiler just like 02. These things should be big motivators for the boys.

You are right nobody is complaining about Logan. I seen pics and the facility looks phenomenal. We are complainig about being the #1 seed and having to drive the farthest.

Just wondering how long the drive is ? About an hour and a half or so?

Well, it looks as if West (as well as most of Southern often gets) got kicked right in the bells by the OHSAA and their "netural" fields. All I can say to West is drop back and kick them right back !! I know Coach T will say, "We'll play anyone, anytime, anywhere !!!". GOOD LUCK WEST !!!

Other than a feeling of being slighted by OHSAA , I think the LOGAN venue is excellent for playoff game. It's not Logan's fault and I'm sure you'll be outstanding hosts. See ya Saturday!! :-D :-D

Depending upon how you come up, I'd say about 1:45 to be safe. Personally, I can get to the outskirts of Portsmouth in about 1:30 but I live south of Logan not far from the Vinton County line.

Check my earlier post for directions, because state Route 93 is closed about six miles south of Logan and you will need to take the detour from 93 to 56 to 328.

The good thing is that 328 in front of the school was completed a few weeks ago, it was widened and re-paved, and just last week they completed lining the parking spaces in the parking lot.

I originally picked West to win the region but I am changing my tune and I hope I am wrong, CBR 27-WEST 17.

look at the bright side, west will definitely bring more fans than ready judging by what jerome brought. 200-300 max for jerome.
