Re: Russell's 5/6th grade football final results
Congrats on your fine season....
BUT with all due respect, and I may get flamed for this opinion.....
20 games is about 12 games too many for 5th/6th graders to play.
Makes zero sense to play that many football games at that level.
Think about it this way - the OHSAA limits Junior High teams to 7 official games per season. Now, I don't always agree with that organization's rulings, but I think they are pretty much in the right ballpark in regards to football games.
Basketball game limits is a different story.

Re: Russell's 5/6th grade football final results
20 games divided into 30 kids, with every kid playing in every game = 10 games,,,add 2 rounds of playoffs and it kinda adds up.... Our Middle School plays 10 games plus playoffs now and with the new state championship playoff system you are looking at 14-15 games...
So if it looks like we played too many,, then you have to know the rest of the story.
I know it looks bad having 20 games but 2 years ago the 6th grade only had 2 games all year, last year they only had 6 and 4 of those were with Coal Grove.. So this year our plan was to schedule thru the roof and see how it goes.......
