Or until Ironton protects the longest SEOAL winning streak by beating Logan.

I hope Logan brings a big crowd with them to this game.

I know, you guys brought a good crowd the last time.
We need an SEOAL team to finally show up at the Tank with a big crowd.
Re: 2009 Logan Chieftains
Sorry to hijack a thread but I looked for a thread exclusively about Ironton football and couldn't find any updated threads, just a lot of hijacked threads about every other team and topic. I have a simple statement to make, if they want gate money play CG, Chessy, Fairland, South Point, P West, Rock Hill and of course Ptown and WBurg, add that to a few KY teams and draw good gates for ten weeks then sit at home week eleven with a 9-1 record give or take a win/loss b/c you aren't going to compete in or even make the play-offs with that schedule. You left the SEOAL b/c it was weak in 1984, now it is tough and any Itown team that could win the league or better yet go undefeated could really make a deep play-off run in DIV or DV. Don't knock the SEOAL for travel and compare to teams that will travel 30 minutes and be home before the game actually ends due to the halftime score.
As far as Logan in 2009, what to say? Skill, skill, skill, can the big guys provide support enough to allow for a nice playoff run?? This Itown group will be better this year and the young guys are very talented, i cannot see them leaving due to not being able to compete with the young classes they have coming up??? The gate thing is puzzling b/c good gate draws would be from local competition but they better get a longterm contract b/c a couple years down the road they may be drawing straws to find a schedule resulting in long travel and no natural rivalries.
Sorry to hijack and good luck to LHS this year, except of course in one game.

Re: 2009 Logan Chieftains
OT - Brock Thompson - 6'1 - 220lbs - SR
OG - Kyle Andy - 5'11 - 190lbs - SR
C - Bobby Russell - 6'2 - 250lbs - SR
OG - Jeff Murphy - 5'11 - 210lbs - SR
OT - Tim King - 6'1 - 215lbs - JR
That's a decent-sized O-line.
Avg. 217 lbs. if my math is correct.
I haven't seen Logan play in a couple of years (except for highlights on GG), how is this group from an athletic standpoint?

If that's the O-Line, and very likely could be, it will be a very athletic group, much like last year. King/Murphy/Russell are returning starters, and Kyle Andy was in line to see a lot of playing time before injury late in the season. Thompson also was a top competitor at the tackle spot up through the scrimmages last fall. Don't forget Jesse Arnold (6-3, 240lbs, Tackle) and Kevin Smith (6-1, 215, Guard) up front on offense either.
The biggest question marks for Logan, IMO, are on the defensive side of the ball, however with Michael Snider, Mason Mays, Jordan Rutter, and Patrick Angle back in the linebacking corps. and secondary those groups will be strong.
Ralph Robinson returns on the D-Line and I think Ryan Sigler and TJ McCray should be ready to step up and make big plays on the D-Line.

They'll be heavier next year, King, Thompson and Russell look like they've gained weight, last time i saw them.

this is a pretty tight-knit group on and off the field. Not sure if this will be the final version of this line but I know they have all been hard at work in the weight room this winter. Bad news for the rest of the league.....I believe the offense this year will be even more productive than last year.

"Tight-knit group" .... I think that explains part of the reason why Logan football has been so successful recently.
Coach Amyx has convinced that entire community to buy into his philosophy.
And right now, the purple kool-ade tastes really good to Logan folks.
