Club Volleyball vs. Spring Sports
Club Volleyball vs. Spring Sports
I have noticed more and more club volleyball teams forming in the area. How do you see this effecting the spring sports that each high school has to offer.

Re: Club Volleyball vs. Spring Sports
My experience with club & spring sports through the years is that it's definitely possible to do both...keeping in mind that if you're playing a sport for your high school...that sport should come first. My daughters participated in both track & club vball while in high school and there were very few conflicts. I think that's due in part to the fact that club practices were usually always scheduled later in the evening (through the week) and on Sundays. Also, a lot of club/aau coaches will work around the high school schedule to the very best of their ability, and tournaments can be scheduled on Sunday when there's not a lot else going on. It really can be a win-win situation for all involved!

I agree black, it can be done. Most club coaches know that most area schools are small and they need as many athletes as they can get for spring sports so they are willing to work practices around track or softball. It makes for a lot of time management but can be done.
