I agree that it will be a great experience for the kids, but who is footing the bill? The parents? The football association? The community?

I mean nothing bad to the kids about this but financing a trip to Florida, right now, when people's finances are tight puts an extreme amount of pressure on people.

I reminds me of the SG cheerleaders travelling to some place far away to compete in the National Finals and compete against Wellston. Why travel that far to compete against a team 50 miles away from you?

Why not have the competition at Rio Grande and save a lot of money for the community?

But I do wish the youngens the best of luck and offer this advice to any parents travelling with them: It is just a game or series of games. Be proud of them if they win or lose, and make sure they enjoy the time down there.

I believe this is the second thread on this issue. This event is not to crown the "National Champion" but to give these kids an opportunity to play teams they would never play in there league. Plus it gives them the opportunity to vacation at Daytona Beach with all of there team mates! This will be the 5th trip for the youth Buckeyes. The trip is scheduled at the beginning of the year, and several fund raisers are used to help pay for the trip. Any outstanding balances are paid by the parents. However, all parents are informed about the expense of the trip, so it's really up to them if they want to go.
