You don't think he knows the kids just because they didn't play for him the past two years? At least two of the seniors played ball under him their freshman year. He knows plenty enough about everyone in the eastern basketball system.

Yeah he knows alot about how the kids are in class but this is a hole new team with a brand new coach. All you pepole say that Eastern hasn't played anyone yet and maybe they havent but whos fault is that? They played the teams they were suppose to and they beat them. They are 3-0 and that is more Wins than anyone on here gave them credit for. No one thought they would beat Meigs and they did and then everyone said they couldnt beat Alexander and they did. Then they go beat Trimble. Ffederal Hocking has played 2 teams and got thumped and beat a team that won 1 game last year. So we will see what will happen on Tuesday night I am not disagreeing with any of you guys bc i think Fed. Hock wins but let's give a lil credit when credit is due. No one said or thought Eastern would be 3-0

Everyone says meigs Alexander and Trimble aren't bad until you beat them then after you beat them people say how bad those teams are. I don't really see where people think federal is better than eastern. Ok they have a 7 footer who is mediocre at best. If he was 6 feet tall he would be awful. They have a boy who can shoot. Other than that they have nothing.

Let's go Eagles! Play your best and you will win. Our posts really have to keep Saylor under control and not let Parsons shoot. Go in strong. Move the ball. Play as a TEAM. We can do this. Have faith in yourselves. Your Coach is upbeat, listens and RESPECTS you as players. That in itself is motivation to want to do a great job and beat those Lancers. Im saying the EAGLES in a close one.

I don't know where anyone got the idea on this thread that Meigs, Alexander, and Trimble were good teams. I had the opportunity to see them play in the preview, and while you can't tell in the preview how good the teams truly are you can get a good idea of the players and their abilities, and I was not impressed by any of the 3. Eastern beating Meigs at Meigs is a good win, but if you want to compare scores, Meigs lost to Warren by 59 points. Warren is one of the 3 SEOAL teams the Lancers have played this year between preseason and regular season. Beating Alexander and Trimble this year at Eastern is no major accomplishment. FH has played a school twice their size on the road, and beat a very improved Miller team on the road by 20 points. Overall, I don't think we know how good either of these teams truly are, but I think tuesday will be a good barometer.

As far as FH having nothing besides Saylor and Parsons, that's not true, and if you're going to say that then I would say that Eastern has nothing outside of Carnahan. Saylor has played far from mediocre in his first two games. Against Marietta he had 15 pts, and @ Miller he had 16.

My point gymrat was that it doesnt matter who Eastern has played this year No one gave them a chance in any of them and they won all 3 . And Eastern went on the Road and Beat a team Twice the size of them in Meigs. So if you want to u the size of the school excuse then it goes both ways. You are right there isnt one person on this thing that nos how good either team is. Its the third weeek of the season. Regardless of the outcome tomorrow night both teams will be totally different by the second time they play

Ill take Carnahan over parsons and saylor. Pullins, cook, and Parker are 3 very good basketball players. I dont think Federal can defend eastern. Just my opinion.
Hey when your D 3 your suppose to play tougher teams than a D 4 school. Meigs and Alexander are much bigger schools than Eastern. Granted they are down but eastern beat them pretty well. Warren would beat and TVC hocking school convincingly. Just give us some credit for a 3-0 start when before the year 99.9% of people would have bet the farm that we would be 0-3. Even the might Coach Caldwell.

Eastern needs to go to Federal Hocking and play as a TEAM! These boys are a good bunch of boys. If we SHARE the ball we will be fine. Good Luck Eagles!

Good Luck to the Eagles. I believe the Eastern bench could play a major role in this game. Fresh legs guarding Saylor will be key. If they force him to the bench, whether it be foul trouble or just his conditioning, the Eagles should dominate the glass. I'll take the Eagles in a close one 54-49.

Fed Hock - 43
Eastern - 41

Saylor hit the winning shot with only a second remaining.

Great WIN by the LANCERS! They weathered the storm in the 4th quarter, and came out victorious. Congrats to Coach Caldwell on his first win in Stewart, hopefully one of many. FH has a long way to go, but winning tonight is a big step in the right direction. Hats off to Eastern. They are the two time defending TVC Hocking Champions and they fought like champions to the very end. Eastern-Federal Hocking is a great basketball rivalry, and tonight lived up to all the hype.

Had a chance to watch this game and must admit that the reffing was not very good. Could tell that from the minute they ejected that fan. Nonetheless, Eastern and FH played a very hard fought game. I thougt Eastern had a hard time matching up with FH size. FH does not have anyone who can consisently drain the outside shot. Honestly thought that Eastern outhustled the Lancers and looked like they wanted the W more than FH. Im sure they had a little motivation with Coach Caldwell on the other side. Round 2 matchup in the nest should be interesting. Would like to see more action from FH guards this season, but thats all part of the learning Coach Caldwells new system and Im sure he'll have them up to speed in time. Good luck to both teams ongoing.
