Good way of putting it. It will definitly be tough, especially this year, to find that one guy who could be a 'favorite' for P.O.Y. ... I would say right now - after that big win over Southern - Max Carnahan is right near the top with his scoring and the fact Eastern keeps winning. Belpre, Southern & South Gallia - George Jones made a great point, they keep spreading the wealth around on those three teams and 3 or 4 guys are hitting double figures every game.

I wouldn't put a lot into this one game. I will give Eastern players credit for not giving up but this was one of the worst coaching and playing melt downs I have watched from a Southern team. This looked like a grade school team out of control. Southern with a lead rushing down and chucking up threes like they were behind. It is a long season I still think that Southern will win the league. I certainly hope the players and coaches learn from this and how to react to different situations. I was very disappointed in the 4th quarter play and coaching. Good luck to Southern hopefully they move on from this and win their first TVC Championship.

South gallia has a good team but no clear best player. Johnson would have to be the most improved of the rebels. He is finally growing into the center position at south gallia ( the tallest player, and fights for put backs). Congrats to the rebels and there good start to the season

I agree with you. Very balanced team and every starter has ability to step up if needed. Johnson is the most improved. I was really pleased with Fridays game. Tremendous balance as all 5 starters were in double figures. Shot selection was better although there were a few times SG got a little lazy on ball movement and fired up a quick three but considering the game was never in question I am not to concerned.

Rebel Cat i agree with you about South Gallia being well balanced. After five games Southern and South Gallia have 4 starters averaging double figures as opposed to Eastern with only 1 starter averaging double figures.

Southern
Roseberry-16.4
Roberts-13.0
Taylor-11.6
Martin-10.2

South Gallia
Matney-16.2
Hanner-14.8
Johnson-14.6
Ellis-10.2

If they pick this award by who scores the most points Carnahan or Abram are probably going to score more points than a player from Southern or South Gallia. I think they usually give it to who ever scores the most. The last two years it went to the leading scorer but their teams got knocked out of the tournament in the first round.

Not true. Two years ago the winner didnt even have the best stats on his own team let alone the league. It's political, just like everything else in this world.

Where did you get these averages? The least amount i have read from roseberry has been 17 he has had over 20 in first four games and 17 vs eastern. Just curious

Two years ago Tyler Thompson from Federal Hocking won it and yes he had the best stats on his team.

Looking at the past POY from the tvc history. It would be hard to argue with Cunningham playing D1 ball. The year Thompson won it Eastern and Southern both had about three players that could have won it but didn't have the numbers Thompson did due to spreading the wealth around. Last year you could make an argument for Arnold from Wahama. I agree with picking POY like a having the number 1 draft pick that way you look at more than just scoring.
