Have you been to the West games then? Bc we have passed WAY more in the first 2 games than we did last year.

West passed more in the first 2 games last year check the stats.

By the way passing and not completing passes is not the same.

That is right we are into week 4 now check the stats again.

Yeah are non conference schedule has been weak the last couple years. But when you sign multi-year deals how are you supposed to forcast the future of the teams? When we first started playing South Point they were good. Chesapeake, which is back, was coming off some really good teams. We've played Fairland and Rock Hill for years and who would've forcasted Portsmouth's program tanking like they have? Look at Burg, Minford, and Valley's schedules. Outside of Wheelersburg playing Ironton, they are as weak or weaker than ours.

OSU77 I've read your posts on here for a long time. It's very obvious your liking and support of Trip through his tenure here and after. But the guys on this thread supported him too. What is the reasoning in trying to down the current staffs way? Nobody made Trip leave. He stepped down on his own. And I was told, he had alot of input into why Shaffer got the job. Give the guy a chance. He's coached 3 games.

Rock Hill is starting to gel a little better as a team and looked much more organized and focused last week, I do realize that oak hill is not the same team as last year, but the redmen have improved. This bunch of kids were unbeaten in jr high and may suprise a few people if they continue their current trend.
Go REDMEN!!

Yeah I was @ the SP/west game and your pass defense would have really sucked cause we had receivers open all night long but our QB couldn't get the ball to them. RH has a QB with a better arm and passes alot. You'll get burned by the pass if you don't play better defense!

I said nothing about how many passes you do or do not throw I was talking pass DEFENSE! LOL

^^^I ignored your first comment. Understand something.....West played a cover 2 against S.P....probly because they knew of their pass abilitys from watching film. 2 db's covered SP on both levels or all 5 of your receivers, and had 9 players to cover the run. West staff knew SP could'nt throw, and SP had not one reception, and west had 2 picks. Go b1tcH somewhere else!!!

West Side Pride I wasn't bit__ing. Just stating what i saw. I also was talking to a few of your fans who came over to our side to sit with family. They too said that your pass defense was weak and that in your scrimmge they were getting burned by that. Are you one of the DB.'s or his daddy!

And your commment to me was dumb! Your response in your first post to me was about two different things. and to think i was helping one of your coaches with a scouting report for Minford for the MS game! I don't give a crap who win this weeks game!
Although I do know they have a much better QB!

South Point, might have seen where the "Sharks" will come up and bite you! They might have not wanted to catch the ball. Every one of the DB's will come up and lay the wood. Ask PHS, they was short arming the balls in the West game. Because of big hits! I know RH will complete some passes, but they better be ready to be hit. And I think they've all had at least one pick! And I don't think RH qb, has faced a D-line like ours. If I'm not mistaken, i dont think he has finished a game against West. These kids buy into the Westside reputation for toughness! Our strenghth is our strenghth! I seen our 185lb qb, carry PHS's lb into the endzone! These kids are tough and smart. They've played under some very good, and very tough classes! Now it's their turn!

West wins this one. I think that Rock Hill is the best team that we will have played so far. As for the comments about coaching or how West plays , that is the coaches jobs to deal with. They will work out any problems in the system.

Not saying that anyone has on this thread, but I have read it in others, some people need to STOP taking shots at Levi, or other student athletes. He is a good ball player and a great kid. Go SIDERS!

I NEVER took a shot at any of the kids! I am a life long West Side student, player, coach and booster. I was a founding member and president of the Extra Point Club for years. I'm not a "spectator", I do however plan to watch my grandchildren come through the West school system. What I don't want to see is a basketball team up 25 points with 1:00 left to play shooting threes, a visiting cheerleading squad chanting "this is our turf" across the field to a losing team, and I darn sure don't want to see a first string QB throwing deep late in a blowout! As far as SP's team, they only had like 24 kids dressed to play including Freshmen, according to the assistant coach who came up by us. I will always back West athletics, but I also will call out a bad choice when I see it. You wouldn't want my Jr. High girl kicking your 5th grade boy's butt around school all day, would you?

I never said that you took shots at anyone. I do know that whatever coaches do they have reasons for doing it.

The Jr. High analogy is stupid. They are a Varsity team who should be able to take care of themselves, so the players are playing at the same level of competition,Varsity, they are just not as good.I have heard that the contract with South Point is up, thats good. My guess was that the coaches wanted to work on their short passing gamw and Levi saw the opportunity to go deep. Now tell me if you were a QB and saw the deep route open, would't you throw it deep.

Our talent in the secondary is excellent. I wouldn't trade our 2 corners for any I've seen. They are both fast and excellent tacklers. The soph Bricker has played well there also. Our safeties are big and will really hit you. Only problem I've seen is sometimes they get caught staring in the backfield.

Portsmouth had excellent offensive talent that tried to throw. We played without Auger for a half. Portsmouth had 120 yards of offense, will alot of that coming with us in and prevent. Their only offensive score came when we gave them the ball inside the 30. I'll take that anytime.

There is one to stop the pass and that is don't give the QB time to throw the ball. I don't think RH's QB has finished a game against West in 2 of the last 3 years.

Coment on RH senior group: Though they were a very good team they were not undefeated. They lost to Ironton and Coal Grove. They did win OVC with a three-way tie with Coal Grove and Chesapeake. Good group of boys. This Grover is pulling for the Redmen!

I stand corrected, They in fact did lose 2 games as you have stated. Old age and senility has sat in. I spoke with one of the jr High coaches and he also advised me of my error. I am human afterall. Well mostly.

Good luck Redmen!!!

I agree with you but the Portsmouth team is not much to talk about.

I can't help but think this is the perfect trap game. A talented QB. They've had their problems the last few year, but they've shown improvement. We've beaten them several times in a row including mostly one-sided games. On their turf and the meat of our schedule is coming up including games most are looking forward to in Chesapeake and Valley. Better be ready.
